Thought i should update this. Kindof forgot about this since I had back surgery.

I ended up giving luke a Traxxas Rustler since there were almost no parts available for the madcap. I didnt want him to not be able to fix the car when he brakes it!
im just going to sell the madcap since I gave him a newer & better car & didnt want someone to think I never gave Luke his car.
cant find the pics at the molment, but will post them when i figure out where i put them.

Thanks again to all that helped me get the electronics & batteries for him.

HI!... There are quite a few parts still available for the MADCAP. Team Blue Groove make a repo body/wing that's great. Companies make repo decal kits. Keep an eye out on Ebay.

It shares a number of parts with the King Cab as well but if parts availability is a concern he will be better off with the Rustler.

I just figured for a young boy a rustler would be better since a quick trip to the hobby store would be all it would take to fix the car,,,, not days of hunting on line & weeks of waiting....
+ going to the local hobby store is way cooler than looking on line! (in my opinion. But i like to touch all the cool toys & like my parts right now! when ever posible. :D )
