Thanks for the info guys. Those parts are definitely white. I think it was just wishful thinking that I was ok with what I had. I may just leave them weathered. It’s not like it’s new anyway. It will still be just as awesome to me. I am going to replace all the hardware and maybe the tie rods. Other than that just new tires and I guess I will continue my search for mini mags. The hubs have different diameter centers in the front and rear so they’re not inter-changeable. I definitely can’t deal with alloy fronts and pink rears. If nothing else I may just get black rims. They still sell them on the site cheap. Any tire suggestions? I want something similar to the schumachers. I have done no research on tires yet so I’m not sure what’s available. Thanks

If you opt for a set of the black plactic CW wheels, let me know. I have a NIP set I'd let go for cheaper than what you'd pay CW for.

nice looking Dom. I like the MOMO color them, but I wish you painted the front hood obelisk yellow to flow from front to back. Otherwise, very nice!

My original plan was to make that part yellow. For reasons(even unknown to me)I decided to leave it "hollow" at the last second even though it would have been just as easy to make it yellow. I think I thought it would make the shell look longer. Since about the time they stopped making the Dom I've always attempted to make things look longer than they really are.
Seriously though, I thought it would look long and sleek that way, but as I mentioned, I would change a couple things if I had it to do over again.

Charlie don't surf wrote:Dominator parts are pure white NIP, close in color to NIP old RPM white parts, but a little brighter still--you want a pic compairson?
And be carefull what treatment you use, a few will ruin the parts
So after reading the whitening thread page by page, will the peroxide method compromise the color/strength of the Custom Works parts?

I'm not sure if CW still carries Dom parts, but
http://www.kippshobbies.com/ has new white arms and carriers for cheap. There is a
Dominator section on the
Products page.

Wow Ken, I had no idea that you actually had or worked on vintage RC cars
Thought you only hung around here for the cooking, drinking and music threads
Very nice, do you still have it?
If so did you get your wheels and tires sorted?

FYI, most if not all Mini Mags did not have ridges.
Like the stock plastic 834B wheels, you glued the tires in place.

Interesting. I believe it. I guess I could live with it, but it seems crazy to me. I suck at gluing tires on rims with ribs, I can only imagine how quickly the tires would fall off a smooth rim that I glued!

Good point, but what if an impromptu vintage 4wd dirt oval race breaks out right in front of my house?? I really prefer my shelfers be ready to race in a moments notice! I'd look like a fool!!
