I can't believe no ones mentioned the tv show that came from the early 90's. It had that little person lugging around a duffle bag with all his rc gear.

I watched that movie over and over when I was in the hospital with a ruptured spleen back in 95'ish.

One of my favorite movies as a youngster: Malcom. Classic Australian Cinema. Features a Sand Scorcher used to rob a bank. I wanted an RC car so badly after seeing this flick!!!

There will be footage somewhere on the net I'm sure.

Neil.

Wasn't that an Ertl cab-over?

I was going to mention Blue Streak. Whatever it is has no body and a camera mounted to it. I thought it might of been a Midnight Pumpkin / Lunch Box but last time I saw the movie I paid better attention and don't think it is.

Now that I'm thinking more about this subject I remember the show Wild & Crazy Kids on Nickelodeon had segments with R/C cars. There was one where contestants were on a beach and had to drive them over a minefield type course. The object was to make it as far as possible. If I remember right, they were Quick Drive Midnight Pumpkins.

Ok, who's gonna be man enough to build a Punky replica?

A more modern tv show featuring an RC car was Fact or Faked where they painted a buggy all white and tried to mimic a ghost cat. :D

Season 2, episode 19 I think it was.

Here's two pictures of the Malcolm Sand Scorcher. The first one shows it in stock trim with the milk bottle holder on top. The second one shows it highly modified for the robbery later in the film.

I believe you are talking about The Wizard. That was 1986.
