18T, B, R, MT... They're all good stuff. Losi Mini-T... ehhh. You can do so much more with an RC18 right out of the box without buying a bunch of necessary hop-ups. Better toy than the Losi. Still a TOY... but probably the best as far as after sales support. Go TT...

I've had a Mini-T and a 18T. Quality wise tyhey are pretty much equal, but the 18T is a lot more fun out of the box.

I have an 18T with the Mamba 6800 and 2S lipo. I cannot figure out how people with 3S packs and/or the 8000 kv motor even drive them. This is so fast that it almost cannot be opened up, in any amount of space, even on the street. It will flip over backwards at 30MPH if you get on it. Pretty insane. And I have yet to break a apart (although they flex like rubber, so no wonder).

so i've ran about 10 charges through this thing already...

actually I personally have only ran about 4. i cant bust it out at work without somebody wanting to drive it. and i let them, and they whack it into just about every damn immovable object in the area until the battery starts to go, then i recharge it and sure enough by then somebody else wants to 'see' it.

this afternoon some carpet fibers got wrapped between the wheel and rear hub, so i go to take the wheel off. getting the little c clip off the axle was no problem, but it flew off trying to put it on. amazingly i found the tiny sucker and tried to put it on again, ever so gently. but the litte bastard flew off again...

i'm definitely getting threaded axles for it. losing one of those c clips and not having any spares really sucks.

if you dont have one, and have 60-70 bucks i highly recommend it. lotsa fun.

Before I even ran it, during the first charge, I put in bearings.
Then I went back and got a 2 cell lipo pack.
Now it wheelies anywhere, anytime, any speed. A buddy and I were seeing who could drive around the room with the front tires in the air the most. Like squares or triangles. Cute little bugger!
It needs real shocks. The thing just kinda bounces around with the stock shocks.

just the lipo and nothing else? seems to me the jump to 7.2 would make these fast enough. whats the runtime like?

i got mine torn apart right now waiting on rear carriers and front c-hubs, i got some other parts as well. another guy at the office got one last week, we set up a sweet table top out of foam core in the hallway after work. the things are a blast.

they are indeed bouncy, i got some aft. springs but i doubt those will help actually dampen anything.

The stock 4 cell pack is 150 mah. The lipo is 220 mah. I only ran the old pack twice, so I don't have a good real world run time comparison. But, the run time is very good. Almost long enough to get bored with it.
For damping, I experimented with putting that old "grape jelly" Losi dif lube (JRX2, JRXT era) on the shock shafts. It did the trick, but is pretty inconsistent.
A few companies make real shocks for them now. I'll see if I can find them...
