Re: 1993 Worlds Car
To be honest, I can't remember where I got those from. I just remember they had a tighter tolerance on the shock body which led to less "very minute" slips of the spring adjuster, so I used them during the worlds.
One less thing to worry about, especially if you flipped over on that track (long infield straight jump wasn't made for good jumps and many would flip over it), which led to a few spring adjusters moving up and down.
It was never good when you had to race your car around the track and it is behaving weird due to this issue.

Re: 1993 Worlds Car
Saturday Ruffy stopped by the track and let me molest both these cars as well as his B3. All of them are ready to put on the track! In fact, I tried to talk him into it, but he didn't have the radios with him. He had to settle for driving my cars instead!
As good as the pictures are, I can tell you that the cars look much better in person. I've seen and done all there is to see and do over the years and even I was impressed!
I wish I could find my stuff from the 2003 worlds to post, but all I have left are the cars. Not even a single picture
Ruffy, take some pics of the jacket and the shirts you still have and post them in the scan archive thread. The teal Associated/Reedy shirt as well as the fusia are not yet posted. Neither is the jacket. All my old stuff is gone..

Re: 1993 Worlds Car
Thanks Jeff for the kind words on the cars. Your car was awesome! Thanks again for allowing me to drive it; It was a privledge.
I will post up the different worlds jackets, shirts and polos (wife has to wash the polos and shirts as I started to use them as rags since I road raced motorcycles too, well into my 40's), as soon as she gets them cleaned up.
Racing here at Daytona:

Re: 1993 Worlds Car
That would be awesome Bormac.
Thank-you.
Edit:
I still have more photos, paperwork, jackets, polos, shirts, etc... pictures to post here in this thread with regard to the '93 Worlds for those that want a little piece of history. I may need to post the video somehow of Brian's awesome driving in one of the mains too, and will give everyone perspective on how difficult the track surface was to go fast on.
Thank-you.

Re: 1993 Worlds Car
I went up into the attic and brought down some more "stuff" from the old days.
But I managed to find my old '93 Worlds Bodies and pulled out my Kyosho 4WD car from the Nationals and Worlds as well.
This is the Kyosho Turbo Optima Mid SE w/ Long Wheelbase.

Re: 1993 Worlds Car
Ruffy,
Put some electronics in that 4wd and bring it out. I can throw some gear in my Yokomo from the '03 worlds and we can have a little 4wd fun! PSL indoors March 13th.

Re: 1993 Worlds Car
True jackets are not used much here. I still have that original 1993 AE/Reedy Team IFMAR Worlds Jacket and that 2nd jacket which I think was the one they came out with to sell commercially to anyone that ordered it.
Here are some more pics of more vintage stuff I dug out.
This is a shirt that was hand-painted as a gift to me by a Mr. Rafael Lugo back in 1985-86 timeframe:

One of two of my sweatshirts from the 1993 IFMAR Worlds:

A T-Shirt from the '92 Gas Offroad Challenge where I TQ'd the 1/10 gas truck A-Main with a prototype truck , where I was sponsored also by O'Donnell, and had Steve O'Donnell & one of his mechanics doing my motors for each and every run. At this event Jay Halsey noticed and mentioned to me that my 1/10 truck laptimes were as fast as the A-Main 1/8 4WD buggy times! He kept telling me how the heck I was able to go that fast with a 1/10 2WD truck! Unfortunately for the A-Main Steve and his mechanic from California could not get the truck-engine started for the A-Main and I was a DNS (did not start). All I know is I did my part to get his engine, fuel brand name into history.

Vintage AE/Reedy Shirt I used to wear:

Another vintage Team Associated shirt I used to wear (still have the old VHS video of me racing with it on):

Here is an old Team Hammer shirt my wife (Girlfriend back then) got me:

Old AE RC10 hat:

Some more old stuff I have, and yes that is an A Edinger buggy there, my old Kraft Radio, one of two Airtronics CS2P's, Magnum Junior, Magnum AM (not shown) as well. Charged the Sanyo 1200mAh batteries with those DigiPeak Chargers today and they still take/hold a charge:
