Your car is looking good. I am hoping to find one my self so I can do a replica of my only National A-main making car. Good choice with the Twister in there. Always loved those motors. Ran a 13trp on 7 cells in my Cat back in '93

Ive built numerous Bosscat's from new spares and a couple from good condition used parts. I have to say that Schumacher definately built it right. The front bulkhead realy made the difference and the front suspension towers/uprights were much heavier duty than the procat before it. The adjustable camber link up front was also a much needed refinement too.
The Bosscat (and especialy the WORKS) had all the goods right in the box. The newly designed slipper works well, the alloy '5 bearing'PRO diffs are works of art and the carbon Fibre chassis plates are sweeeeet! Also this was the first car to run the new 2.2 aerodisc (if you dont count the PROCATse) so the modern tyres work with these cars now.
Luckily i still have two of these cars, one runner which Ive been driving for years without a single breakage and a new built shelfer.
Yep i like em too.

Looks like someone got bit by the Schumacher BUG... scratch, scratch. Looks good Brandon. Which are you running at the VONAT's, Bosscat, or Cat 2000?

I will admit I'd never seen a Schumacher run before the vonats on an offroad track. I was highly impressed with their ability. I have been looking for a Procat ever since seeing yours run, but I have not been lucky in that regard. Guess a Bosscat will have to do. Unfortunately I will not be running a 4wd this year.

Unless a Cat 98 would be permitted. That's about the only one I would be willing to sacrifice to a good race weekend.

Brandon the Bosscat is a very strong and capable buggy. far better than a Procat in that regards.
The Bosscat you have there would make the ultimate 4WD vintage racer if your vintage nats rules permit its use. Here in Australia the Bosscat was released after the December 1990 cut off so I race the Procat instead-albeit with some Bosscat parts thrown into the build.
The lexan underguard will take the majority of the wear so you dont have to worry about the chassis getting scratched up. Ive bought many Procat's and Bosscat's over the years and the chassis are always in top condition regardless of their age.
You'll have a hard time breaking the suspension arms also with Schumacher's inovative 'crash back' front end.
Seriously I'd run this car over the later model CAT as it would be far cooler to do well with an older car than something which is still on par with the cars of today.
If you break something I'll be happy to help you out after the fact.
Cheers-jason

unfortunately a Cat 98 is way too new. But I do have a stash of cat 2000 parts to convert it. Call me 203-898-2461 if your interested.

While I tend to gravitate to the Yokomo cars due to the AE connection, the Shumacher cars are 100% different in all ways in design--and are really clean and functional. Very cool 8)

They also look like they drive more like a 2WD--any input on this?

Just a side note. Many AE drivers drove for schumacher during the bosscat and Cat 2000 era. I worked with several of them (as I had been running the cars since their inception) and their names might surprise you. Matt Francis, Jay Halsey, Jason Ruona, Brent Wallace, Brad Reelfs (the first half of BJ concepts), Daren Westman (Mike Reedy's son), and allot of other team drivers ran our cars. We actually had more AE drivers than Yokomo did for a while. -Jeff
