Tuber v2 looks great! I really like that wheel and tire combination. Those wheels look a little awkward to me on a regular RC10, but they seem right at home on the tuber. Nice job.

they do look kinda funny on a normal buggy. i wish i had bought the earlier versions that were the actual beadlocks. i wish i had asked first if they could send me a set w/o the darn fake beadlock screws in the spokes. :?

i will take it to the beach here soon and romp on it real good. should probably make some kinda windshield&windows so the top doesnt become a shovel if i flip it over.

well... its held up since my last update. ;)

over the years ive ran this thing at scale 4x4 comps or gtgs. its a pretty sweet little rig. its by NO means nimble, its a pig.. but its as stout as it is heavy, and theres something a little more scale to that.

Image

im not wreckless with it but im not scared to open it up in some rough stuff. ive cased it, barrel rolled it, and just plain hammered the crap out of the thing and its proven to be pretty stout.

...btw its absolutely wild to read the history of one of your own builds after being away for awhile.
i forgot alot of the history on this rig and most of this post... prolly too many fumes when i was younger.

This thing is super sweet! I love the scale look of it. Glad you still have after all this time.

Awesome. I love theads that continue past the look at my pretty perfect car photos. The modifications, scratches, all the nitty gritty is awesome. I wish we had more threads like this.

Question hoop - how do you have your esc mounted up against the shock tower? More than just servo tape right? Those Novaks don't have a real good way to get zip tied unless it wraps right over the heat sink. I like mine there too, but it's a challenge to keep it there if barrel rolls are part of the gig.

i used a piece of lexan mounted to the shock tower mounting screws, then servo taped the esc to that. otherwise i'd get a bunch of dirt and gunk on the backside of the esc where the servo tape is exposed through the shock tower, and that looks fugly.

it has stayed on no problem, but the esc fan got taken out by a rock or something at some point.

Wow lots of metal. Would like to see more pics when you get some time to restock the picture gallery. I'm sorry to hear you lost so many photos.

@badhoopty, that car is a work of art my friend. Simply amazing and gives myself a distant target to shoot for. It's really a beautiful build and I can't say enough about it.

thx guys.

definitely one of the more unique rc10s i built, and by far the most hammered on.

i'll try to figure out a way to get an accurate weight on the thing. it wouldnt suprise me at all if it was over 5 pounds.
