On topic this time(for once) my first car in 1990 was a 1979 Cadillac El Dorado 2 dr. It was the 350 V8. It was a beater with an 8-track I got for $1200, but it sat 8 fairly comfortably. After school one day(with about 8 in the car) I flew some railroad tracks out in the middle of no where and it felt like we were in the air for an hour. I'm surprised, but it didn't seem to hurt the car. It did catch fire(in front of a firestation) a few months later though. Totalled. Still not sure what started the fire. I may have knocked a wire loose in that jump.

Thumb: your 'it didn't seem to hurt the car' quote jogged my memory.
One time in my 76 Caprice I weaved in and out of those wooden construction zone sawhorses that were propped over exposed manhole covers (the road was cold planed and about to be paved) and ended the trick with a 180-degree skid. My buddy in the passenger seat said that was lame.... so I went Dukes of Hazzard style-- straight through three of them. They don't explode like the balsa ones on TV.... one of them crashed through the grille, but luckily there was almost 2 feet to the radiator so a little piano wire and no one was ever the wiser.
Note to Halgar: this was circa 1986... not last week.
