Got the stabilizers, but the only motor guard I found of the bay is expensive. I might have to hold on that one or make my own.

The Option house motor guard is a very nice piece. I never understood why it wasn't included in the TU it?

Ok, the car is all clean; I rebuild the shock last night and now some waiting time. I order a full set of stainless steel screws and some Lunsford turnbuckles that should be in next week. I also found a new set of arms and new gearbox case.

I have to see what I do about the motor guard. I might have to buy one because it is a bit naked back their.

I am not sure what to do about the body but I will work on it a bit every week until I decide. ( Tomahawk or the original ), I always wanted a Tomahawk body in one of my cars.

Can anyone tell me where I can get parts to rebuild the differential? It is ok for now but if I run it in the future I need to rebuild it and I like to keep the cars nice and ready to run during their shelf time.

Here's a tip: As long as your diff gear and outdrives are in good shape, you can probably find the internals for cheap. Most people don't even recognize the rebuild kits. There are two. One has the balls and other assorted parts and the other has the rings, etc. I'll dig out the part numbers for you. I had a used motor guard not too long ago, but I gave it to my brother to use on his Outrage. I don't even know if he's used it...butthead.

Thanks for the tip, what I mostly need it the rings and the small and large balls. The gears look good.
I will have to keep my eyes open for a motor guard. I saw some on the bay but to expensive for me now. I got a couple of projects I am working on simultaneously and I spent to much the last couple of months.

I’ll keep this threat alive during the process, it might be my first Ultima but I like it a lot very nice machine.

The set with the diff/thrust balls, washers and diff screw is p/n WBD-2. This is probably the one you want. The other one WBD-1 has the rings and outdrives.

Check out what I found.

I have almost everything I need to put it back together but got involved in some other project and this one will be slow but I found some more new parts and some that I think are extremely hard to find.

I think it was definitely a nice score. They have a couple of boxes at the LHS and I had to dig in to find these. I think they part missing is probable in their so I plan to go get is eventually. I was especially very surplice to find the RCPS parts I also found a set for the RC10 world car).

You can buy the Kyosho Pureten diff set (39506) if you don´t want to use those option parts. You just have to use your old Diff gear.
Works great!

Ok, quick update on this project. I was going to rebuilt this car to make it box art, but I am not into that so I decided to add some hop-ups to it.
- Replacing all hardware.
- I am waiting for a motor guard from Prince Steve.
- I hate the towers on these cars so I was thinking of adding some JG but opted out and decided to make my own.
- Adding HPI 2.2 wheels or some other option without having to replace original parts.
- BODY… not sure yet. Still thinking of the Tomahawk, Pro-X or original.

A pic of the towers and plate, still in process.
( I am starting a thread of how I made these towers soon on the R/C Tech Forum section.

the only way I can think of to mount 2.2 wheels on the original front axles is using the yokomo wheel adapters for the ultima
Those home-mde parts look good. I like the change of direction already
