Meh, it's a toy so it's ok if kids are building the parts in China lmfao!

love to see the old cars with the new electronics.. i really like the extra room for the battery.. anyone know the details with how they got more space for the lipos? just new holes in chassis? i know they changed the bulkhead but did they change the battery hold down? if they changed the battery hold downs to make more room i will get a few. if they are the same as the old ones and they just moved the holes in the chassis i will pass on buying that part.

I do not know if to run such a car with a brushless set up. I think i would go old school with a brushed Reedy and Novak or LRP esc.

I read that they moved the holes forward a bit and removed the bottom on the rear bulkhead

I picked up a Mr. T motor for this. I'll pity the fool that loses to the 30 year old car.

Agree with the vintage set-up. There will be a lot of both come this fall so it'll be very interesting to see what everybody does with it. I'm considering either a brushed Kinwald Dirtinator (to the chagrin of quite a few here :D ) or a Stock Reedy motor.

Found this on AE's website

just a few questions it answered for me.

4-40 rods, not adjustable once installed :/
top load shocks
Pictures and part numbers for everything I think.

Those had been answered long ago! The rods are now stainless steel with full hex ball joints and the shocks are top load to make assembly easier/less leaking than the bottom loaders.

I'm not seeing any changes to the transmission to accomodate brushless motors. Maybe the original design is sufficient - Am I missing something?

I think the original 6 gear is quite capable of running brushless already.

I ran the same electronics from my rustler in my rc10 except for the gearing.

3500Kv motor
11.1V 3s battery

rustler gearing was 31 & 72
rc10 gearing was 21 & 83 or close to. I'll be doing the same again here soon. Ive got 4 sets of steel idlers to run :)
I had a 5th but I broked it trying to force a bearing in. I can probably fix it though, I crushed the opening a retaining ring sits in.

So far all I see is that the idlers have a slightly different look to them, and a 48 pitch spur (you'd think they would have kept 32p).

If nothing else just chop up some outdrives and then your all steel internals. Not my cup of tea but strong

I would definitely recommend bearings on the outdrives. I've yet to build a modernized RC10, so I am looking forward to it.
