So, what did you do RC today?

When it's R/C related, but doesn't fit anyplace else.

But he was thankful for both lessons so it was worth overpaying for it there.

This is one thing I have in my list next time I go to the LHS.
They are cheap on Amazon.

You can probably buy a set for what the LHS wants for a single one.
You aren't wrong, but every penny I spend with Amazon is one kept from a local business.

I wanted it yesterday, literally because this was yesterday  , and I was throwing a couple $ at the LHS.
Most of the taps at my desk are Irwin or Bosch. I also have a 8-32 Milwaukee impact tap for RC10 chassis and modifying 4mm flange nuts for RC10 axles.

Some came from Amazon, others Lowes and Home Depot.

Don't misunderstand. I spend plenty of money at my (semi-local) LHS. Even though it is kinda out of my way, I've been shopping there for over 30 years.

And I'm more about equal opportunities. I waste my money with everybody.

But with me also being a full size car and boat guy, I probably have a little different perspective than the typical rc guy concerning tools.

If I step out to my shed, these are my other taps. I also have several randoms in my tool box, as well as NPT taps and dies.

@juicedcoupe

I hear you.

Also, I'm into old Toyotas, so a torch, a set of left hand drills, and metric Starrett tap/die set are also always near.

I have that exact Craftsman set for more than half my life and it’s helped me out so many times it’s countless. Good to have around.
Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.

Nothing picture worthy yet, but started working on RC10 B4 (Masami tribute) body work.

My brother passed along all his airbrush supplies to take over r/c body work because he's too busy working on my 1970 Mach 1.

Finishing up a couple of pairs of fronts for an upcoming Ten 4.1 project. I still need to drill the axle and screw holes to size.

If you are going to use jconcepts tires you will want to make the ring wider. Not sure how their tires got so far off but it was frustrating to try to get them to mount on 3pc wheels

I have some Schumacher tires I was going to try. Which JConcepts tires are you thinking of?

I should have made the post yesterday, but got home so late and forgot to today. Saturday I attended a race a couple hours away, watched a couple friends race. So this is an indoor track and it's dirt, but it's so hard packed that they run tire additive and use tire warmers. The tires are slicks. Never in my life (I know this is very common, but I haven't been to a track in years) have I seen such a "dirt" track. The cars come off the track spotless like they were on carpet.

Also they race oval, this week the oval was very small but the cars.. holy crud .. I've never seen so much crazy geometry they look broken. The rears have so much steering built into them. It's just insane.

RC has gotten weird 🤣

The Schumacher spike rib tires are a good fit for the front wheel. That's probably what one of my Ten4.1 builds with use.

Cleared of the track after the winter finally seems to let up.

When that was done I raced my Blackfoot against my brothers Monster Beetle.
