very deep. trust me on that.

beyond the complete restorations, and minor work to his other old cars, he's bought atleast 8 new cars this year. i don't mean hyundai's and kia's. bmw m6, porsche boxter spyder, srt8 challenger, some kind of mercedes (can't remember the model), and a gmc duramax pickup........ just off the top of my head.
Just out of curiosity, what is a ballpark figure for a ground up resto for this guy?

you should have your truck restored Halgar. You can afford that 8) . Prices have gone up from 20+ years ago when I was doing bodywork but that is actually pretty close to what it was percentage wise from way back then. Guy that was teaching me had several cars that were in the 75k range in his shop which back then might as well been a million dollars  .

At the moment I don't have anything worthy of restoration, but I would like to get a late 70's Chevy - precomputers - that way I could work on it.

our labor is half (or less than half) of other quality restoration/custom shops. so let's say we build a car for $75K and $50K of it is in labor, the same job would cost $125K or more somewhere else.

another little update.....

3 weeks ago we had a profession striper come to hand paint the white stripe between the black and silver on the body shell and the doors (quick sample pic).
58.JPG
2 weekends ago, i got the stripes done on the 2 fenders. we got them back on the car this past saturday.
61.JPG
then, i got to work on getting the stripes masked off on the hood, as well as getting the grill on the back of the hood and the trunk lid ready to spray, too.
64.JPG
got them sanded and polished monday. then put some of the hood together.
66.JPG

the stiper is supposed to come today to lay out the pin stripes on the rest of the parts.
