What an amazing custom build! I just saw this thread for the first time and had to read the whole thing twice because the detail is just amazing. It really shows what you could do with what you have laying around and very little cash thrown at it!
Congrats on the magazine shots!!!!

Thanks! :D

I really enjoyed building this one. It's fun building something out of a bunch of (well, mostly) recycled stuff!

Car Action kinda suprised me!....no notice at all.

I guess they don't respond to any photos sent in to let anyone know if their project made the cut or not... until..well,..after they've made the cut I guess.. :)
(Whatever that might be...)

I've never heard of a "Duratrax Ultima Pro XL" before...(and they twisted a couple other facts on the parts list) but I still think it's pretty cool to see it in there anway.

I saw it posted online on Friday, and picked up a couple magazine copies on Saturday.

Thanks,

I appreciate the comment!

I didn't even know it made it until the mag was out... (and they never sent me any Car Action decals...) :(

(Oh, well..)

I'm honestly pretty happy with how it turned out. :D

This one was a fun build.

Congrats Scott! That is awesome!

Just be aware that they are slow getting the prizes out. You have to stay on them if you ever want to receive it. I won Readers ride of the month back in APR 10 with this:

It took almost a year for them to get me my prize. Lucky thing for me the guy I was in contact with felt bad and sent me this instead of the motor:

Awesome car!...Awesome prize!

That body is sweet. :D

I've got that issue, I had no idea it belonged to an RC10Talk member.

I'm not too worried about the decals...I might send an e-mail..but I'm not expecting a speedy response...

Congrats on the magazine spread, too bad it wasn't the centerfold! ;) It's great to see one of your cars get some publicity, you deserve it with your originality, "doing your own thing", and attention to detail.
