Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
I'm STILL waiting for Stormer to send me the right parts....the ones I ordered originally but they didn't send me.
They're on some ridiculous fact checking mission on what I refered to as the "USA" case and idler. (6565 & 6370).
They've "never heard of that." I sent Bob Stormer links to multiple threads from here, including this one and Jeff's video.
Still waiting. Thoroughly unimpressed.

I am glad that I am not the only person scratching my head over the question of this kit supposedly being "discontinued" already. Does anyone have a definitive answer?flipwils11 wrote:That's what I'm wondering.hugger19 wrote:so thats it the rc10 worlds run is over?

What's the part needed to shim the slipper plates on top shaft?

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
That's not going to fix your problem, contact AE about a replacement shaft. It was cut wrong. I got one of the first kits release and found out the hard way. Either email or call them, they are pretty quick about replacing it.RC104ever wrote:What's the part needed to shim the slipper plates on top shaft?

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
I put a new in pkg B4 top shaft in there and it was the exact same issue so I don't think that's the problem. I'm going to buy a top shaft spacer and see what happens.
I did order a 6565 case and the new idler as well from AE. I called them and they told me to just 'run it'. I told them about reading it online here and they said I would have to send it to them and they'd look at it, with no promises. Yeah, I just said screw it, for the cost of sending it to them I just bought the new parts. Easier, less hassle.

Yeah they don't get it.
As far as topshafts, some in bags have been found incorrect also- the new cars probably don't care cause of that spacer. If you use a spacer all you need to do is drill out the case a bit.

It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
The first worlds re re kit I built the top shaft was off and AE sent me a new one and it worked fine......
The second worlds re re tranny I built I had a replacement top shaft already...so when I buit it, I didn't even bother using the kit supplied one.....And the replacement didn't work....I took it apart, used the one that came with the kit and it was fine....
It's a crap shoot....lol
Edit.....I even bought a few extra top shafts....Now I don't even know if they'll be good when the time comes that I need to use one.

Hey I know its in this thread but went back 10 pages and couldn't find it. What are the correct tires to get so my car would match the box art pic?

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
I'm running the 5700 and have used pinions between 23-27 and it has been fine. ( I think I'm at 26 right now)mosquito wrote:Hi guys,

That sounds high for a 5700 but my temps have been fine to the point where I don't see a problem if I even went up a couple of teeth.....At the same time, I'm not constantly on the throttle. If I was, I'm sure temps would be higher and I'd have to drop a couple teeth.
With the 4600 you should be able to gear up higher, but I would start at 23-24, check temps n go from there.
If you're gonna be at a track, I'd start with around 20.
My experience with these is you can gear em a lot higher than castles recommendations ......but better to start low n work your way up.

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
I'm running my 5700 with a 21 / 81 combo. Plenty fast (stupid fast) and had the same with a 4600. Works great.NickTheGreek wrote:I'm running the 5700 and have used pinions between 23-27 and it has been fine. ( I think I'm at 26 right now)mosquito wrote:Hi guys,

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
LOL....stupid fast is right!!
I'm tempted to drop the spur to like 75 n throw as big a pinion will fit n slap the 3s in there....I just don't wanna experience that horrible feeling when it goes airborn n starts with the cartwheels.....N ive already mangled my car once.
These cars are DURABLE. I've been with my friends on many occasions when we're riding on concrete n I've taken some serious cartwheels, where everyone's expecting damage n every time (except once) it pops right up unscathed...Maybe a ball cup pops off.
Have stripped a couple spurs.
