Thanks for the tips and encouragement, I really appreciate that! The pre-cut HPI decals were really good on the '67 Vette body, the Kyosho decals look good too, but that extra clear bit does ruin the scale effect. Just seems with today's tech they could get the pre-cut decals trimmed to the tightest margins.XLR8 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 11:13 pm Yeah, cutting decals can be very time consuming but I always prefer to do it myself anyway. When they are die-cut, they never seem to trim close enough to the edge of the color which leaves this clear border that creates a visible edge that doesn't look so nice.
The decals surrounding the headlights on these Porsche's can be a little tricky to apply. Just take your time and it will look fantastic.![]()
Much thanks!XLR8 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 4:20 pm Everything is looking good so far.
FWIW, I've found it best to apply decals for only 10 or 20 minutes, go do something else for a while then come back to it.
Taking a break gives my eyes a rest and allows my hands to stop shaking. The window surrounds are especially tedious since there's almost no margin for error.
I've also found it important to remember that this is just a hobby and when it stops being fun, it's time to walk away. That's what I'm doing right now.![]()
