I don't mind at all, it's a huge compliment for me. What are you going to use for electronics? I will probably end up with a brushless combo in this eventually.

I've got a few options.

I have a few old brushed Tekin ESC's and Trinity motors.

More likely though I will be going brushless. I picked up a TC (Top Photon) with a Tekin RS Pro & 17.5 turn motor that I can't use as I am going VTA and that ESC/motor can't be used for that. I also sniped an Ebay auction for the BL ESC and Motor that comes in the current B4.1 RTR brushless. It's not great but its an option, and cost me less then $50 for the motor and ESC.
I also toyed with the idea of picking up something else, but haven't made a final choice. Most likely it will get the RS pro and I'll pick up a solid motor to mate to it.

I am pretty stoked though as I just found out that they are building an RC track at a local 1:1 track and it looks great and will really give me much better track access.

Now the pressure is on to get my project done and ready for the track!!!

Anyone up to anodizing the non-glod parts to black?

Maybe I should ask emerson some questions because I head that the rear non-gold parts are anodized aluminum so that would have to be stripped first...I think.



Black and gold rims would be effing sweet on this build, what do ya think?

What did you use as a spacer in the front carrier to supplement the height of the steering knuckle? IT looks like a white washer of some kind? I am continuing my build and I am missing this part up front and something different in back so I am stalled until I can get that figured.

I will take a look at it tomorrow. I have family here and they are leaving tonight. My hobby room has become their bedroom and looks like a disaster zone now.

Good eye, they are the white washers from the ASC6440 shock rebuild kit. I used 2 under the right carrier and one under the left carrier along with some axle shims because there wasn't enough space for two on that one. I used some synthetic lube on those areas too just to keep things smooth.

Here are some better photos of how the tires look on. I think I will go with a ribbed front tire, this Losi spiked one seems too thick.

Everytime I looks at yours, I get more jealous. My most recent is that I am going to go with BigJeepz arms Front and back, so I'll need to dye them to get them black. Looks like I've got more parts for another build!!!

it's a small servo and you can move it back so that the link can be straight.

I attempted to paint a shell good enough for this car, but failed once again. I was so close this time, but this car deserves better. Maybe I'll use this body as a runner body and throw some re-re stickers on it.

I did up a CE type paint scheme but slightly different and with a couple mistakes. I made a fluorescent green by mixing fluorescent yellow and and green, which I liked, but I needed to cover it up when I laid down the pink . At least I learned my lesson before painting the wing too. I ran out of 1/16" masking tape, so I had to be innovative when doing the pin stripes...fail number two . I thought I would use gold instead of the silver used on the CE body because of all of the gold parts, which I liked. Also, a gold dusting on top of the grey too, but I didn't mix enough for the wing and the grey on the wing has more gold than the grey on the body .

All in all, it's not a Protech II body, it's not a CE car, the colours are different, and it's a runner body, therefore I'm not too upset. I am just embarrassed about the painting mistakes, but at least I learned from them . Here's hoping some stickers will distract the eye.

I don't see the problem, looks damn nice to me! When you coming home? Got Reedy brushless combo and battery on hold for ya!

Sweeeet! No problem, but it wouldn't be acceptable as a shelf shell. Those pink RC10 stickers will look good on it.

Been working on a new photo booth, amongst other things... pretty busy lately.

Here is a test shot using the booth. It needs some adjustment on the lighting, but pretty good so far.

Might as well show off the new shell too.
