My wife has been asking me to build her a truck. Knowing that it will probably have a rough life, a Stampede was the obvious choice.

I picked up a XL-5 slider for cheap and proceeded to build it how I wanted to.

Front:
- Proline Protrac wide control arms.
- RPM caster blocks, with VXL carriers and hardened kingpins.
- VXL front brace (already had it) and RPM bumper.

Rear:
- Transmission has all steel gears and new bearings.
- RPM control arms, with Nitro Rustler carriers.

I also have Associated MT10 big bore shocks (still need springs) and it will have 4mm turnbuckles.

Still have more stuff to buy.

That one looks wild!

Traxxas' legal shenanigans are well documented here and elsewhere on the web but it's also true that their RC's are very well designed and as tough as nails.

I let Logan (13yo neighbor) borrow my well used and abused Slash 4x4 and he drove it full throttle (3s) into the blunt end of a drain pipe. Of course, the pipe won.
The ground shook and, for a moment, I was certain the truck was destroyed but after flipping it back onto its wheels, he simply drove it away. The ESC was knocked off its mount and the body has a few more dents and cracks but that's all.

Logan's dad told me that he'll be receiving his own Slash 4x4 for Christmas.

The local carpet oval (which recently closed ) had a Slash Figure 8 class. Unbelievable how those trucks could take a hit. I could barely stand to watch it.

Not necessarily RC but I lost my temper because I tripped over something in the garage which is my workshop. My wife just puts things in a pile in the garage that she doesn’t want anymore and says she’s going to have a yard sale in the spring.

It’s been 3 years and no yard sale

Well I have piled things up for the garbage, church donations, and goodwill store. Plus a “ pick this up from my front lawn trundle bed” that I should finally be able to get to after all her crap is gone. That means another shelf for some rc cars and maybe a little bit more test drive area!

Needless to say I’m probably not getting until January, she holds a grudge for a while.

I did pick up a Tamiya BBX yesterday though.

Finally getting this running...been sitting on the shelf since it was restored a couple years ago..it was cool seeing it run...runs strong!

While building the above Stampede and making some upgrades to my basher, I noticed that I had compiled a large assortment of Traxxas parts. I had recently picked up another parts lot for cheap to get some of the aftermarket parts.

Anyway, I noticed that there was most of the parts for another Stampede. It's parts are from at least four different trucks, early and late versions.

The early transmission case has newer internals, including a steel idler gear and Revo style slipper.

Currently, the only new parts are the transmission shaft, $5 Amazon servo, and a few bearings and screws.
Seeing that it is turning out pretty good, I'm tempted to spend a little money on it.

More racing with the B6.4. one thing is for sure, this car is durable. During my first qualifier another buggy jumped a pipe onto the straight and nailed me. My car came out unscathed! Took the B main but flubbed in the A. Oh well, progress was made at least!

Also did some practice with the Schumacher Storm ST. Starting to get the hang of it and its ridiculous 6.5t power. Its amazing how well that truck can turn in. Finally got used to jumping it, which was a big issue for me before. Needs a delicate touch on the throttle\brake for air control.

You're not kidding. We grabbed an ex factory pilot car for my son last year to build driving confidence...he can push the limit and go over it and still come out ok. They're also 99.5% as fast as the B7 on the clay!

Completed this rebuild of a Tamiya TA02 I received a little while ago... including adding a body I picked up for not a lot off eBay.
Came out all right, I think.....

I took my RC10B7D and B74.2D up to Hobby Action in Chandler and did about 5.5 hours of track time.

I managed to break a shock tower on the B74, but that's better than Tuesday's trip when I took three cars and broke all three, one of 'em twice

Does putting th Death Star tree topper on the Christmas Tree count? It has a remote control that plays music on it and makes the lights do a little show when the music plays.
