one too many observations on cheap toy cars in general on this website. Be it this one on this very topic, or all the ones on re-re's ruining your passion and you having to buy a $2000 nitro car to ensure your plans don't get ruined, the terrible curse of re-re's all being built in China and AE only being in for the money, blah blah blah (note I have a brand spanking new Gepard too, so it isn't really like I don't like them either). You're allowed to have opinions, but you're expected to bring positive energy to the forum once in a while. All I see is negative energy, never anything positive. Sounds like others agree.

Instead, show us your builds, Rc10's or not, your videos, your shelfers, your runners, give us technical tips, share knowledge, help your fellow rc10talk member by offering advice or (OMG!!!) free parts, help the noobs with their silly questions on speedoes or ball diffs, ADD VALUE to the system and help grow the community in a positive way... Can you do that?

back on topic......

I got a nice ( again very fast) reply from Nick.
his thoughts are just to run it, and it 'should' bed in.

fair enough I suppose.

anyone got a good start point for gearing a 10.5 in it?
thanks

I threw in the b4 top shaft AE sent me .....put it together .....everything seemed to spin fine and free until I closed the tranny case shut. That's when I noticed a bit of resistance.
I'm pretty much a noob so the only rational method I could think of was to throw a 3s in there and go full throttle...kinda like "shock n awe"...It loosened that baby right up. Runs like a charm.

Only issue I'm having is I put the vts slipper on , and the gear cover for it only has one screw that will catch and I'm riding in a pretty loose n dusty area and I'm getting tiny grains of sand stuck in the spur.
Is there a gear cover that will fit the vts slipper where both holes align??
If the only way is to drill your own extra hole, where's the best spot to do so for it to seal properly??

Very cool....thanks.....
I guess the best bet in the meantime is to go back to the standard slipper.....Too bad the plug popped out of that gear cover, lol.

The Losi Hydradrive RC10 Stealth gear cover works like a charm but good luck finding one easy!

I got the Transmission back today and what a difference. It's spends better then my old stealth transmission!! If the idler does not fix the issue then check the case, I know one of the best test is try spinning the gears with one side off. If one side spins freely and the other side seems a little tight it might be the case!

Got my replacement B4 layshaft from Nick, will run it in and see if the transmission is smoother - slight binding right now when I shut the casing similar to what you guys have also experienced.

Does anyone know if the B2 idler is the same?
