Gang, on the Transmission issue. I am having all kinds of issues from the top input shaft being cut wrong, to sticking in the transmission. In fact, the only way i could get the wheels to spin was to turn the slipper clutch to the max setting. I called AE on Wednesday and Don asked me to send the tranny to him. After talking to Don today, the problem might be worse then he first thought. The transmission was on it's way to Tim in engineering group to look at it. I will let everyone know what the out come it. BTW, Don has been great with helping to fix the problem.

I got my parts from AE today.
I had dealt with Nick via e-mail.
super fast, and no problems at all.

with the B4 top shaft in place, my transmission feels so so. I 'think' it'll loosen up, but it still has more than a little sticky spot in there.

It's the idler. I'm hoping someone comes up with a replacement that fits properly and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I have to say I built three brand new old school USA stealth transmissions and all of them went together 100% perfect first time. (My 1986 1/8 buggy also goes together perfectly). So the whole "this is 30 years old" argument is nonsense. Fast forward all these decades of progress in technology... Sounds like you guys are now the guinnea pigs having to sort out all these QC problems. Still think the whole made in China issue makes no difference? Seems to me you get what you (don't want to) pay for.

Kink - someone has to tell you this straight once and for all as this has been going on for too long now...

GO VENT YOUR BOTTOMLESS FRUSTRATION ON ANOTHER BOARD, PLEASE.

Thank you.

(and so long)

FYI, I talked to Don at AE today and the problem was the transmission case and not the idler gear. The best test is if the transmission does not sick when it's open, but does when it's closed you might have a bad transmission case. I will have the tranny in my Friday/Saturday I hope and I will update you all on how it's working.

Alright, I want to know if that solves your problem. I talked to Nick and he said the idler was to blame.

RichieRich, Don is usually on the morning. He seems a little more "seasoned" when it comes to the RC10. I am hoping to see the transmission either Saturday or Monday, I will update when I get it back.

I don't know how much longer it's gonna last (says it's a one day sale) but Amain is giving a free 5800mah 100c 2s lipo ($100 value) with a purchase of the Worlds Car.
I'm fighting myself whether or not to buy another kit, just on value alone ..... Plus, a brother always needs spare parts...
A tranny by itself is 90 bucks. A chasis, around 75....shocks...like 40 a pair...

I think I'm gonna have to pull the tigger on this one.....and I really shouldn't.

Act fast on this one, I just came across it a minute ago and I don't think there's much time left.

...........I bit the bullet. .....(n got a 2nd kit)
I really shouldn't have spent the money, but that's a damn good deal.

Worlds car and a 5800 100c 2s lipo , shipped to my door for 251 bucks.

I just recently got into rc (after having a couple as a kid) n every week moneys flying out of my pocket.
.....n now another kit, that I don't even need......Ah man,this is heinous.

I just e-mailed Nick back, and said thank you for the top shaft and shock bodies, but that my gearbox still didn't feel right.
I'll see if he thinks idler or not
it's always a sign of a good company when they step up and rectify issues like this.

Lonestar, all I did was summarise what has happened... one single post in this massive thread. I did not insult your mother. Just an observation on a cheap toy car. Echoing others comments already posted about shoddy QC. Get some perspective and get over it. Over and out.

/End.
