i still fail to see how a 1994 Losi XX is considered vintage. that car ran till almost 1998-1999. Hell i could probably set it up today and run it with rb5's and b4's and do pretty well. hopefully people will keep the spirit of the "vintage car run"

yeah, 27T brushed stock motors....
Yes, the dates are going to be September 18-20, per Mark/John.
And Yes still Pre 1994.
And Yes, we can run Losi XX at the Vintage Nationals....And yes, we can run and RC10 truck conversion in Heavy Metal.....And Yes the winner will still probably be a pair of vintage RC10s
Keep the questions comming, I'll keep asking them....
I have no problem with being the middle man....

will it rain that day? can you reserve a "good" pit spot for me? will they have airconditioning installed by then? Will my truck spend more time on the rubber than the lexan this time?
Thanks for confirming the dates, I will submit them to the bosses and see what happens.

Will your car spend more time on Rubber than lexan?? Uhh probably not, but who am I to say...
Will they have A/C by then?? probably not, but I can let you borrow a Cline Hobbies edition Fan.....
Can I save you a good pit spot?? what are you talking about, you had a good pit spot, close to the bathrooms....

i still think this is wrong...... even more than the xx being legal. they made truck conversions for everything. if you open the heavy metal class to the rc10, you have to open it up to all of them.
just for conversation sake, let's say someone has a junior 2 buggy. they convert it to a truck using the front a rear body mounts from a jrxt/junior-t. and what is a junior-t? it's a stadium truck. but if the body is mounted high enough, it could be used in the heavy metal class? that's just not right.

I have to agree on the conversions-- those are stadium trucks. Who cares how high the lexan body is mounted??
Maybe I'll try to sneak a Kyosho RB5 under my Hornet body...
When this all started I had asked about maybe grouping classes by age-- like a vintage and a classic group. Maybe up to 1989 and then 1990-1994. Perhaps this year there will be enough to do that? Just bringing it up again....

Hey guys,
My tub chassis 17.5 powered team car was only .5 sec a lap slower than my 8.5 powered RB5, so if you think that a super fast XX buggy (discontinued for a reason) is going to blow the doors off the rest of the field, go ahead and bring it.
The motor, battery, and tire rules will stay the same - this saves you money, and allows more trash talk time between races, instead of doing 20 year old motor work (I still know all the tricks, plus a few new ones and the cars wouldn't be any slower).
Yes the dates have been changed to the 18th, 19th, and 20th. It will be updated on the website soon.
Lower race fee, hand out stock motor..both crowds will be dissapointed on that one, but not that disappointed. Cactus classic entry fee for the first class was $65, the ROAR nationals $80. Our fee I thought was reasonable, and the fee would have to be higher if there was handout motors - HA!
I'm surprised nobody has suggested only vintage drivers should be allowed, My 25 years of racing saw quite a few noobs last year.
