yum! midnight moon strawberry is awesome.

i got all the ladies in the family drunk last christmas with that stuff. i put it in fancy little crystal glasses and asked them if they'd care for an after dinner cordial.

they loved it, and asked for more. when it was gone i asked them how they liked the moonshine. lol

I don't think I shared this one with you guys. Leftover grilled pizza sandwich. If you get one of those cheap pepperoni carryout pizzas from Papa John's or somewhere this is a good way to eat the leftovers. Cut the outer edge of the crust off 2 pieces, butter the bottoms like a grilled cheese, top the first one with some more cheese and whatever else you want. Then put the other piece on top and cook them like a grilled cheese. It gets super crispy. Works best with thin crust. It tastes as good as it looks.

Hey Thumbs, have you ever thought of making a cookbook? Seriously, you've come up with some awesome recipes.

Well, tonight dinner is Hop Dish IPA.

In the meantime, I am slow-cooking a root beer ham roast for tomorrow's dinner.

Fresh Ham Roast, 3-5 lbs
2L bottle of Root Beer, Barqs or Dad's preferred, A&W is ok.
Whole Cloves (1 container)
Big crock pot.

Press the cloves into the ham roast on every side. Try to use the entire bottle, but if needed add them loose. Add root beer until the crock pot is full or the root beer is empty. The root beer will soak through the cloves into the ham roast, infusing both flavors into the meat.

Turn on Medium for 12+ hours, then Low for remainder of the time available.

I have ~3lbs of meat, + bones for the pups, less than $15 invested and a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner for 2. Add in potatoes & pie & etc, you're still significantly ahead of a turkey. Add in some White Castle Stuffing (yes, it's a real thing, and awesome!) and you're set for Thanksgiving with minimal effort.

Thanks, and yes. I have notes on top of notes which I hope to organize one day just for the fun of it. jwinker, that's a very fine meal and represents the most important of all food groups...
