The body came with the car, which I bought here in the UK on a well known auction site. Does seem to be a pretty perfect match.

Guys, I appreciate the kind words and yes this is still a go when I return from South Korea. I am in it too far to give up now.

Yes Rod the towers will be in fiberglass and I will try to nail everything as close as possible.

One thing you guys could help with is a picture of the rear towers on these cars. There no good pics of the rear shock tower and that is pretty much the only thing I don't have a handle on right now. If anyone can get me pics of the rear tower, specifically on Masami's car, I would owe you big time.

have you gotten your hands on steve husting's stealth book? it could help you with the details you're looking for.

I have studied all the pictures of the car in the book but I did not see a clear photo of the rear shock tower. I have an idea of what it looks like from various pictures but I really need a picture of the full tower.

I am sure some of you guys happen to have some contacts who could possibly help out.

Did you look at the various pics of the cars in the scan archives? I'm sure you've drawn some up already, but this is what I've come up with going by some of them.

Scr8p,

I have looked at all the pics that are out there and you also have come to the same conclusion as I have. The top of the tower is what I have not been able to see clearly but I imagine it is similar to what you have drawn.

On that note I am going to send Steve an email, and explain my project to him and what I am missing. Maybe he will help me out in the getting the pics of the tower for me, we will see.

Thanks for the suggestion guys.

I just broke out my test chassis and upper deck and bolted up the tranny, bulkhead, tranny brace and motor plate. So far my measurements are exactly where they need to be and everything lines up as expected. Once I get the rear tower drawn, my next task will be the steering bell cranks, rear arm mounts and the front bulkhead. The steering bell cranks will be the hardest thing to replicate out of the entire build.

I'm sure this has been asked many times before, are you going to offer conversion kits or is this just for yourself?

Right now this is just a personal project. I don't have plans to mass produce since the chassis material for one car is about $90 alone. That and the project could end up in flames as well, I still have a way to go to get even close.

I think it is cool to keep this as a one off. Makes it more special.

Btw, why not CNC the arms from solid block Nylon? Might be easier and look the same?

That looks more like what I imagined it (from the low shots of it)

Almost just looks like a modified stock rear tower-

i thought that too, a modified stocker with the holes connected and cut out. but the top (going by not so great pics) has the flat spot (like an rc10 worlds tower) and the sides are at a continuous angle (like the rc10 worlds tower). in my second drawing, i actually spread the sides out at the top a little more trying to get their relation to the inner shock mount hole looking somewhat right (to me), then just filled in the rest.
