Just got my first ever brushless system installed, into the jrx-T for the vonats. Calculated the gearing based on what a couple folks posted from last years event(corrected for tire size and trans ratio), and I needed to increase the pinion by about 10teeth.

Even with the high gearing, grabbing some throttle with the car in the stand and the wheels in the air causes the diff to make that characteristic slipping chirp that the brushed motors only seemed to do with Low gearing and good traction.
I've got the feeling I'm going to need to bring a pile of spare diff gears with me.

Finally getting my buggies/trucks ready for the VoNats. Nicky swiped my RC10 Graphite Stealth Team Car and my unbelievably clean RC10T, so that leaves me running my JRXS and JRXT. Had the Associated's on the track Saturday and they are both ready to rock! Need to stiffen up the 10T a little but the 10 is dialed. Putting the electronics in the Losi's this week and going to hit the track with them very soon. Looking forward to running this one! If anyone os looking, I have a really nice Tamiya Dyna Storm that I'm not going to run so it's up on the block.

Does anyone have a starting point for gearing a stealth in a buggy with a 17.5??

cool, I found a 75 tooth spur, I will do the math to get close to his gear ratio. I was trying to follow the B4 trend to get the motor as close to the tranny as possible

Erich,
I am thinking about putting running gear in my Tamiya Dyna Storm. Would that fit into the "Classic" class?

75/26 would get you there.

I would think the Dyna storm would a better fit in the 2wd class. IMO

Yeah, I think the Dyna Storm would fall into 2wd buggy class.

I remember an article of RC Car Action, where they pinned the Losi XX, Associated RC10B2, Tamiya Dyna Storm, Kyosho Pro X, Schumacher Courgar(I think) and Traxxas TRX. One of my favorite articles ever, if anyone has that issue, please can a copy...

I'll 3rd that.... DynaStorm would toast the classics.
I am thinking of running a Traxxas Rad2 in 2wd this year, so you won't be the only non-AE. :D

I think Glowster is running a Losi JRX. :D

I'll keep saying it, 2wd is going to be action packed this year...

I'll be hunting for "Classics" and "2wd Truck" titles though.

2wd, I'm going to shoot at least to qualify for the B-main.

Freddie's right, I will most likely be running my newly rebuilt JRX2. Unless of course, the deal I have working on a like new XX comes through :P
Was checking on the Dyna Storm for Nicky, and I know it's not considered a "pro" car so I was thinking about him running that in Classic. I got tired of the kid taking my cars, like my killer RC10 Graphite Team Car, so I took back my 10T and told him to pound sand  Damn 9 year olds that can out drive me

Hey Glowster :D

I'll probably, if allowed, let my daughter run some of my heats in "Classics" and "Truck" off course, I'll run the mains, but I want her to be a part of it, without actually buying her a separate car...

She could be my relief pilot... 8)

"Team Tecnica"

OK, let's get an idea of whom is going (confirmed). I will post a list on the first post of the first page. I am going to take a run at compiling the list, so review it, then post here if I missed you (I am not going to get everyone on the first pass... there are too many pages to read).
