My first set of Tecnacrafts......

Post by CNA75 »

I've just managed to find my first set of Tecnacrafts (don't ask what I paid for them....). They fit the original size wheels so will be perfect for my original RC10 shelf queen. Just thought I'd post them as I'm pretty stoked as you might imagine!! Now I need to find a set with larger diameter and gold spokes for my vintage CE....

Thanks. Think I became a member of the EEWC a little while ago when I purchased a set of NIP vintage SEES aluminium wheels from fleabay. Amazing that these wheels can cost as much as they do. The original Tecnacraft owners should re-start their business again.....they'd make a killing if they kept the wheels expensive enough to remain exclusive (maybe I'll look into buying their company and starting it up myself ;-) )...

Funny I was thinking the same thing it would seem that the Asian manufacture has already kind of stepped in to fill the void though. I was also thinking that some more modern designs extc.. would sell well but in this day and age of RTR and the economy as it is how big do you suppose the market would actually be for such an item? Just my .02$ but seems a good idea to me after all style and quality tend to always be in vogue.

If Tecnacraft ever did that they would kill the value of the original wheels in a HEART BEAT I don't think that would be a good thing for anybody that has the original wheels especially if you just recently bought them I don't know what you paid for them but I do know that you could get anywhere between 475.00 & 575.00 on ebay for them, the see's are alot less expensive then the tec wheels

I wouldn't mind if the value of the wheels I have was killed if it meant that I had the opportunity to get more of them at sensible prices. They are great looking wheels and the prices they go for are (in the grand scheme of things) ridiculous really. Wheels of this quality and look should be available to everyone at sensible prices....there's obviously a market for them (albeit niche), one would just have to accept that one wouldn't make a fortune from the business (which is fine if you aim for a work-life balance)...

If you guys really want some new "Tecnacraft" wheels, you should contact this guy and see if he'll make some buggy sized wheels for you:

As long as you don't duplicate the original old school patterns.

They're very nice, indeed! I think I will contact that guy; it's not clear whether he can make wheels for vintage RC10s though and what style they will be. I agree that copying tecnacrafts is not a good idea (provided his own designs are good enough!)...

Killer wheels. I've been searching for some for awhile now myself. I'm dying to put some on my shelf queen RC10. Please post pics of them on the car when you get a chance.

Great looking set of wheels. I got the same ones in natural but I plan to paint the centers gold.

As for reproducing, they could look the same but there will always be slight differences. In the end they are reproductions and not the real deal.

I've tried sending a mail to the Company at the link above but have not received a response. Anyone had any success in contacting them? If so, would appreciate some pointers....
