my rc10 resto turned racer

Post by cklosi »

here my vintage A chassis rc 10 that i bought from transamman about 5 months ago, it started as a just a resto but turned in to a runner. after taking it to my local outdoor 1/8th scale track, the "faster" bug has bitten me and after upgrading it i regularly beat 1/8th scale nitros and such (at the expense of alot of broken white parts) while turning in great lap times. i get alot of compliments on it and alot of " dude that belongs on a shelf " kinda stuff but it's satisfying to beat newer, bigger buggys with an old 85 gold pan :P

heres what it looked like when i first got it:

heres after bleaching and cleaning it up, installing a mamba 5700/spektrum setup:

after paint:

here it is now after 5 month of racing with lipo, stealth, longer a arms, b4 slipper, jr z9100s servo, losi steering, MIP CVDs, titanium bits and a freshly broken shock tower :(

and now for my once scratch free pristine "A" chassis :P

i also have a question, besides schumacher, who else makes spiked front 2wd buggy tires and where can i get a good heatsink for my motor?

Traxxas makes some spikes for the front. I think they are 2.15 size
I have five terrorists going southeast on Bakalakadaka street.

Nice rig!!!
You'll need to search Ebay for a heat sink.....LiteSpeed made a motor plate with one built-in.

OUCH!! eventhough I also like to run my 10s THAT hurts if that chassis was really new. I wouls have tried to get a cheap black chassis off the bay for that kind of use.

Nice ride tough.

Nice Runner.
I really like the way you painted the body to show the chassis sides.

Im all for runners but with so many $10 scratched up chassis on epay I don't understand why someone would beat the pi$$ out of a really good chassis. An "A" chassis no less!
