JRX2 body & RPM side mounts?
JRX2 body & RPM side mounts?
I just put a set of RPM side bulkheads (the mount for the 5 link) and now the stock body doesn't fit. Before I cut the body to make it fit, has any one else had this problem?

the rpm mounts are slightly taller than the body mount surface of the stock mounts, and do not have a provision for a body clip(the stock mouts are taller overall). I would not cut your body, just put a piece of tape around the area so the rpm mount doesn't scratch the paint. It is only slightly off and not really noticeable other than the lack of a pin sticking up through the body.

Just taller? They seem wider as well, the body seems to bow out as well as it doesn't seem to sit right either.

You need to be careful because there are 2 versions of that RPM side bulkhead. There's the standard and the one for the wide jrxt (also uses longer links).
If you are using the buggy version and it's still too wide, you can use a lower profile screw instead of the standard cap head screw.

forgot about those. They sit quite a bit wider and also dip below the surface of the chassis.highwayracer wrote:You need to be careful because there are 2 versions of that RPM side bulkhead. There's the standard and the one for the wide jrxt (also uses longer links).

Re: JRX2 body & RPM side mounts?
The package for them didn't have a header, so it's probably the ones for the JRXT. Hmm, that's a pain, guess I am going ot have to find another set. The originals are nice to have, but always seemed a bit weak. Just found a set of originals on eBay, I think I will pick them up. Good to have a stock pile of parts for these Vintage buggies, especially if your like me and love to drive them as much as to have them on the shelf!
