XXX rear hubs on a XX
XXX rear hubs on a XX
Does any one know if the rear hubs from a XXX will fit on a XX? The reason is the XXX rear wheels don't fit, the rim rubs on the top part of the hub. So rather then grid away at original parts I thought I would try and fit the XXX hubs and see if that solves the problem.

Re: XXX rear hubs on a XX
I don't know much about the xx or xxx, but I'm pretty sure the wheels are the same diameter, only they have different offsets. I believe that the xx, like the rc10b2, push the wheels further out away from the suspension(hub closer to inside edge), while the xxx will have the hub mounted closer to the outside edge of the tire. This would mean that your car is probably too narrow in the rear with xxx wheels on there.
I have become a big fan of the wheel spacers made by kippshobbies:

They are great for spacing wheels out to get newer wheels on older cars.

Re: XXX rear hubs on a XX
I run the XXXCR rear hubs on my XX4, using the original XXCR rear arms. If you are running the original XX rear arms (with a hoop around the lower shock mount), I dont know if they will fit, I dont have any of those older arms to try.

Re: XXX rear hubs on a XX
The main reason I want to put the XXX rims on is because it's getting hard to find XX rims. So if the XXCR hubs fit and I can install the XXX rims then I won't have to worry about rims any more for my XX. I will give it a try, now I just have to find some XXCR hubs. Thanks guys.

Re: XXX rear hubs on a XX
I sure do wish they made those rims for the XXX, dish wheels are booooring.
I raced my early XX with those rims last summer a lot, got a lot comments on them. Even though I did get a lot of ribbing for running an antique. At least then the rims were still available directly from Losi.
Come to think of it, might be about time to go vintage a few times again, and follow through on my threat to go even older this time. With some pictures this time around.

Re: XXX rear hubs on a XX
But the offsets are different, making a XXX too wide to be legal.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not all that opposed to cheating in racing, consider it development, or being creative. But at this stage in my career and eyesight, well it’s just embarrassing to cheat and still lose!!!

Re: XXX rear hubs on a XX
Are they? I have used them both on my XX4 and XXX buggy back and forth all the time. Guess I need to bust out 2 sets and measure them up. I know the JR series 2.0 wheels and XX/XXX series have different offsets.Bongo Fury wrote:But the offsets are different, making a XXX too wide to be legal.
