I've got an AB chassis?

Post by Synergy »

Is there such a thing as an AB chassis :? and what is it because I got one. I guess it was the chassis produced between the A and B chassis. I don't know if it shows up that well in this photo.

Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

Yep, that's an early CE stealth "AB" chassis. Offset front battery cup holes are not countersunk, stealth tranny holes. One of those weird transitionals... There is also a "BA" chassis with offset (not countersunk)and centered (countersunk) front holes, but I've only seen that in black. I have one from a super early 7001 truck.

Sorry, the rare one would be the black AB chassis shown in the Team Car manual...

Looks like a "cutoff". Using the maximum of the aluminum sheet...

Is that the same shape as the back of a chassis by chance?

Wierd. :?

actually, it does match pretty well to the back of the chassis right above the 2 motor plate holes.

Ah, Associated saves another dollar by squeezing out another chassis from that sheet.

It also could match the end of a truck noseplate, I suppose.

The beancounters are very pleased . :)
