I've got one installed on my JRX2, the only difference is the top shaft. But I never run any of the builds so I honestly don't know how it works. However, I would like to know myself.

I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike. www.gojammedia.com
I have one of these on my electric RS4 original. They work okay on an electric car. The problem is finding the sweet spot for the shift point. During the first part of the battery, it shifts too easy and towards the end, won't shift at all. These work way better on Nitro powered cars becuase the motors power is consistent throughout the entire run.
WHAT you don't run them. Thats no fun.. I know I have 3 or 4 here that don't get run. But the team car the 10T and the comp craft have been run from new. so its not like i'm going to hert them anymore then they already are so I still run them. But the 1/5 scale HPI 5b get the most uses.

I had one of these on my DS. First run while testing in the street without the body on, it flipped and the top shaft broke off, the spurs and clutch bell separated and rolled away. Back to single speed.
I had one of those. And yes, the shift point can be tricky since when the battery starts to dump, the motor may not hit the shift point. This may not be an issue now with Lipos. Also, the one I used had a MASSIVE wobble. Just too much rotating mass, I guess. You can't fit a gear cover over it so it's only for street use. I sold mine on ebay years ago. I think it's a novelty part.
