Wheels and tires for original RC10 Team Car
Hey folks,
Howdy from a newbie to the forum. I usually hang out at the R/C Tech forum, but someone there just told me about this site. I have a couple RC10's from 1991 that I want to restore and start using on occasion. One is a gold pan car, and one is a stealth team car. They are in pretty fair condition, except that the wheels have yellowed badly and the years in the storage shed have not been kind to the tires. What I'm wondering is what do you guys use for wheels and tires for these cars? Are there modern parts that will fit? I really haven't had much luck finding original parts. I'm sure that I'll be asking more questions as time goes on, but the project is dead if I can't even find wheels and tires.
Thanks,
Kris

hey dude, i love you crunch berries!
as long as your cars have the correct buggy suspension parts, here's what to get:
duratrax bx front rims and nitro rear rims. they're 2.2's, so modern tires will fit.

then, get a set of mip b2 cvd's.

4 of these bearings for the rear hub carriers.

4 of these bearings for the front rims.

this stuff will work on both so your cars, so just double everything to do both (obviously).

Correct Suspension parts? They are the original parts that came with the kits way back when.scr8p wrote:hey dude, i love you crunch berries!as long as your cars have the correct buggy suspension parts, here's what to get:
Thanks for the info. I decided to come back to the RC world after a LOOOOOONG time away a few months ago, and I have been focusing on 1/8 nitro stuff and 1/10 touring. Now I want to get these old RC10's back into shape. More for the nostolgia than anything else. These two cars were mine and my son's track cars when he was about 11. Now he has kids of his own

that's what i was getting at. depending on your rear hub carriers, you might have needed a different sized bearing.CaptCrunch wrote: They are the original parts that came with the kits way back when.

Hey Jason, aren't tired of always answering the same question? A sticky for this could be helpful together with the "how to have my parts white again" topic

Sorry if I'm asking the same old questions. I tried searching, but the search engine and I don't see eye to eye. It kept telling me that words I was searching for were too common.
