Okay, this one is kind of a Frankenstein of parts that I think will go together pretty well in the end. It started as a NIP composite craft chassis 10T oval chassis, and not wanting to built a 10T out of it I decided to add a set of bart's (R.D) RC10 gt sprint car conversion A arms with with some GPM rear arm mounts that I stripped the anno off of and hit everything with fine scotch brite. The towers are Speedy's oval 10T towers. I think this is all I'm gonna do on it today, I need to come up with some turnbuckles to mount the rest of the suspension, but I do have two pairs of NIP .56 gold body shocks that are going to go on it.
Sorry for the semi blurry pics, I dropped my camera and it's not too happy....
is that gonna be a shelfer or a runner? if its a runner put a 5* caster block on the LF and a 10* caster block on the RF or even a 10* LF and 15* RF you wouln't be sorry it will turn on a dime. if you can lay the front shocks down as much as possible which may mean you will have to change the front tower since it is designed for a truck. my suggestion is use a dual sport graphite one like this if you can find one. http://cgi.ebay.com/rc10ds-used-front-shock-tower-look_W0QQitemZ280298702852QQihZ018QQcategoryZ34061QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
you will have to elogate the mounting holes in or out slightly but these work great fot 10t/gt oval car conversions. here is one i made for my custom sprint conversion that works awesome.
Bill,
I'm pretty sure it's just going to be a shelfer, the track I race at is pretty competitive and I don't think this would fair too well unless I built it up as truck, even then there are a couple guys running terminator based trucks that are really fast. Besides that, the chassis is really nice and most of the parts are new, I figured it would look good next to my new built 2.25 mid motored terminator that's on my shelf. I was going to mount an edm body on it, so I think the front tower will work okay clearance wise, if not I'll probably make my own. And as far as the 5/10 degree blocks that setup does work really well, I acctually use them on my GT. Unfortunately those blocks (especailly the 5 degree blocks) are getting hard to find, I grab them whenever I can.
it works awesome, it's called a castor split and they even use it on full sized race cars nascar and dirt cars. i use to use it in dirt oval karting, most karts had it built into the chassis. Daryl Lane suggested using it in the original A&L road kill conversion instruction sheet that i got with my factory works oval towers. custom works and putnam guys use it on their cars too. i use 5/10 on flat tracks and 10/15 on banked but it mainly depends on driving styles along with running split rear toe it really helps corner speeds.
