New winter project - ArtAttack Snowmobile

Post by murphy3428 »

My new project I just picked up from eBay for 50.00 bin brand new in the box. I am thinking of installing a 6xl hacker motor, and speed control on 4s lipo. It should be a screamer!

Will the drivetrain be up to that kind of power? Seems like a lot.

I will let you know once I get it together the fine design trans will handle the power with no problem and from the tranny to the drive wheel will be belt drive so that shouldn't be a problem I just need to take a look at the rest of it and change out any bushings to roller bearings but I am pretty sure it will handle the power the model calls for nitro motor so it should be beefed up some if the xl is to much I have an extra 8l set up which would run on 2s or 3s lipo and the good thing with the fine design trans is there is no limit to gearing I use these in my brushless boats and they handle extreme amounts of power I have one of my boats seup with 10s lipo so if I get the time to go over the kit this weekend and see what I need to replace and what I can get together I keep you up dated on progress. Here is some pics of of the trans set up I will be useing in this build

The belt drive trans is just like a real sled. Now if it was only a torq-a-verter style like a real one that would be even better.
