MX-4 front belt
Hi,
Can anyone help me out with the part number for the MX-4 front belt? Any ideas where I can get one (UK based)?
Thanks,
Ian

Re: MX-4 front belt
Thank you. I've got a runner to get going with a front belt missing - I can go hunt for one now.

Re: MX-4 front belt
The MR4-BC has a shorter wheelbase than the MX4 because it's based on whatever boring (sorry, meant touring
) car chassis was around at the time. It was reasonably common in the UK to get Fibrelyte to make up a LWB C/F chassis for the MR4-BC special with an MX4 frt belt.

Re: MX-4 front belt
I came across 2 conversion sets for the MX4 front belt this weekend: with the fine pitch and inthink one-way. They were expensive though and not-being sure anyone'd be interested I left them on the hook (no MX4 myself)
Next opportunity to pick these up 'd be in march next year PM if interested

Re: MX-4 front belt
I'm sorted for the MX-4 front belt now, but thank you for your help. Interested to know more about the conversion. Did it include pulleys as well? During 2.5 years of racing I never had a problem with my MR4-BC front belt (same pitch as MX-4 but shorter). The rear however used to snap about once every 6 months
The MX-4 & MR4 have the most compact rear transmission I've ever seen. The belt is tiny and the two pulleys are about one millimetre apart!

Re: MX-4 front belt
What I recognized in the bag were a fine pitch long bellt, a dark anodized part with pulley and spur mount with bearings inside and a yellowed nylon pulley (also in fine pitch), an alumium stopper and an instruction sheet. I think that was it.

Re: MX-4 front belt
MX4 front belt = 189 tooth
MR4 BC front belt = 179 tooth
rear belt = 44 tooth same for both cars
they got same pitch.........
