Just a little update on my resto
Ok, I think I'm finally getting somewhere with this thing. Since taking it apart and rebuilding it, I have been able to fix a couple of 20 year old problems I had with this car!!! Funny what a difference that can make. I can remember when I first built this one not being able to get a couple of things done exactly correct. So it is nice to be a little older, patient, and skilled. Anyway here it is so far, I am trying to decide on a paint scheme. I saw one a while back it was White, yellow, orange, and brown, really retro looking but I loved it, although I cant seem to find it now. but in case it sounds familiar to anyone, I think it was in some sort of "V" pattern with the above mentioned colors. Well here it is so far... BTW I'm not too concerned with the front end alinement just yet. I am going to get new turnbuckles for it. The originals are bent, rusted, and look like crap.
Let me know what you think, and any suggestions will be welcome.

Ride look like it's coming along real nice. I have a CRP Nerf Wing NIP in case you want to add back that extra touch of originality.

Guy,
Looking good. The first picture kinda 'blinded' me with all that shine
. Did you figure on what you were gonna do for electronics yet? Gotta agree with Asso_man about lowering the shocks outward...will give your cvds a little more 'horizontalness'
...its been a llllooonnngggg day so that word actually made sense to me...
Keep us informed on your progress and love the front tires.

Re: Just a little update on my resto
All I know at this point is replace them, the radio at the very least. Its had some problems with loosing the signal and control any more than about 10 to 15 feet away. I'm not sure if its something interfering with my signal by my house or if its the radio. But if I'm not mistaken when I was running it on a regular basis many many years ago it was having the same problem towards the end, so I think its time to replace it, with another Futaba of course. Now ESC, and motor, Im not sure about. I was thinking brushless on the motor, but was a little concerned, from what I have read and heard there could be a problem with the transmission not being able to handle the bump in power with the new brushless motors? Any thoughts?klavy69
