I've always used Easy-Off oven cleaner for anno removal, although I've never done a chassis. When you remove the coating though it still requires a little cleanup to make it nice and shiny, you can either polish it, or use some scotch brite for a brushed aluminum look.

methinks you didnt type in the right search terms...

i know that searching this board is sometimes a huge pita when you are trying to dig up a specific post from a couple years ago, but this issue gets hashed out at least every other month. i dont ever want to be a search nazi, but i can see now how it drives some people crazy... ;)

anyway, easy off in the yellow lid can. i've tried the blue lid stuff and it doesnt work nearly as well and fast.

do NOT let it dry on the surface, i keep everything wet by stripping parts inside a freezer bag so the easy off doesnt dry up. it helps with fumes as well.

it also is nice for inspecting parts and giving them a little shake once in awhile to move the easy off around. it doesnt take long at all, i recently stripped a set of shock bodies with the hard anodizing and it took around 10-15 minutes.
