Picked up a super sweet XXT CR off eBay last week!

Trinity screws throughout-
Titanium hinge pins, ball studs and turnbuckles-
Fantom front brace and transmission brace-
Mk1 lightened motor plate-
New Hydradrive-
HG 2.61 Diff gear installed-
MIP shiny CVDs-
Ball Bearing steering rack-
ZERO broken or overly worn parts-

Truck will be mildly modernized, 12mm hex setup front and rear, B4.2 slipper setup, aluminim steering rack, probably HD ballstuds and cups....probably and new transmission option....
Pretty stoked. This truck will put my LXT racer on hold, as this is far better anyway you look at it.

It was also dirt cheap.

It needs purple aluminium hardware though

Spent a little time with the truck while I wait on parts.

B7 HD ballstuds and ball cups work flawlessly-

Found a couple tricks to lower the truck and raise the roll center-

Waiting on alloy steering rack, servo, transmission cases, hex wheels and hex adaptors, all the rest of the electronics...again lol, tires and a few small bits.

More done today since I was home sick from work.

Aluminim steering rack is in, as is the new Saxox BE servo (the lead is too short by 50mm lol) slipper installed, SC10 rear hexes and Z3D front hex adaptors...im.sure there are things I'm forgetting.

I know this forum isn't very race oriented, however this may help others that are vintage racing-

We used to do this in the 2010 range to Proline Holeshot M3 tires. Diesel was the sauce of choice but the rubber would swell so much that the tire would be clapped out in three runs.

Diesel isn't the sauce anymore, but the Jconcepts Ellipse in green is a prime tire to slick off, instant traction with little break in since it's thin...but at a cost, three to seven runs and they clap out and the handling goes away. Sooooo....we're going to Cut N' Shut the tire by removing 30mm across the carcas and re-gluing the tire on a standard foam, leaving a tighter tire to the foam, and a smaller diameter to help lower the truck another 2mm.

Cut'n 'n Shut'n... good times. I did a lot of that in the early crawler days to make comp tires.

Just glue, then a light scuff with grey scotch brite to get any excess off the outside of the tire. The slicked ellipse is very thin so the stretch isn't a problem at all

Tire glue carne today, late day at work so I only knocked one tire out. Here's what I have now. The stock tire is 100mm, the -30mm tire on stock foam is 96mm, not as dramatic as it seems...but that's still 2mm less ride height and on a Truck with super high grip tracks that only helps everywhere

This reminds me of when we found the magic tire that was untouchable we used to grind the names and markings off the sidewalls so nobody could figure out what they were.
