Kyosho Super Ten Sport Rally Cars

Post by Dangeruss »

In 1997 Kyosho brought their Super Ten Sport 1/10 Rally Cars to market. Advertising their larger than 1/10 size the Super Ten Sport cars capitalized on Kyosho's Outrage 1/10 2wd buggy platform originally released in 1994 for their off-road prowess. This meant their rally action would be provided by a molded Kelron chassis and 4-wheel independent suspension with Kyosho Ultima lower a-arms paired to fixed camber links while tail out turns would be reined in by twin bellcranks, built-in servo saver, and fixed tie rods under a chassis stiffening forward brace. Plastic shock towers and long oil filled plastic bodied coilover shocks with spring adjustment clips from the Outrage ST soaked up the rough terrain. Power was sent to the ground through Kyoshos bevel gear differential equipped transmission and steel dogbones, forcing the 2-inch white nylon spoke wheels shod in 320/35/VR20 Rally Special tires to fight for traction. The Super Ten Sport Rally Cars were available in both an EP electric version with a chassis stiffening transverse battery mount, mechanical speed controller and Mabuchi RS540SH motor and as a GP gas version with a GT-12SCR recoil start engine, muffler and flip top fuel tank. Both the EP and GP cars were sold partially assembled as a Cosworth Escort or WRC Imprezza model with spring loaded cam lock body mounts, highly detailed clear lexan body, plastic wings, mirrors, wipers, and a full set of bushings, less radio:
