T2 coming?

Post by templeofspeed »

It appears a whole bunch of black parts are showing up on the AE site. The T2 gear cover caught my eye as well as a bunch of black GT specific parts.

🤔

Your probably right, the way they have been pumping out stuff is kinda unreal...and at Hoosier the only non RC10B2 or B3 was Ruona if I'm correct, so iI bet they keep blasting out new re re stuff as long as it sells.

A few months ago I would have said a T2 was unlikely due to its unique chassis tub, a lot of work making a new chassis mould for a limited number of sales compared to the buggies, but then they released the GT so anything goes these days. Based on the other chassis they rereleased if it does happen I would say there's a good chance the tub will be gold rather than black.

The GT was one of the best and longest selling cars AE has ever had. It was selling from at least 1993 to 2003. ( though likely -2006 until the gt2 came out)
I couldn't see AE missing the cash on that.

It's be nice if the t2 wasn't gold. Don't think that truck would look good in that color. Since the GT release used the older style arms the t2 re-release would be nearly all new plastic. Only the front bulkhead, DS steering and front bumper would already be existing.

Yeah, a lot of the T2 would require different tooling to reproduce as well like the GT, but the fact that they just did the GT means anything is possible. The T2 batt hold down is not currently lipo friendly either. Maybe, just maybe they will go off the deep end and surprise us with there take on a, dare I say, a B1.5 buggy???

Since they are "borrowing" designs how about making the RPM parts for a b 1.5

The only important different molded parts are the transmission case, gear cover, rear bulkhead, and battery hold down.

If you want to be pedantic the arms are a different mold, but also backwards compatible.

Just sayin'.

We shall see.

Associated is making it possible to do fantasy builds, but it's gonna be expensive.
