Replaced two corroded 9 volt pigtails on a Lavco Cell Mate 20 and added deans and XT90 connectors to another Novak Digi-Peak Plus charger.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
I have this motor that doesn't run.
. .
I think I know why now. It's not just the comm that looks like it met an arc welder. It's not the brushes, because it doesn't have 2 anymore. The one that's still there isn't the issue.
. .
Definitely not the sort of brush and spring setup that I'm used to.

"fixed" the world's worst running JRX (that somehow isn't winning POS of the month) hopefully this time at least 1 camera will work.

Well it was more my wife but we finally got around to doing some sublimation prints and they turned out ok! Pretty amazing technology. This really opens up some possibilities

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Did a little work on the Cougar 2 Works. shimmed the top shaft of the trans after getting annoyed at a rubbing sound. Added a Factory Works bulkhead brace. Put on some JC Racing aluminum yok wheel adapters and slapped some YZ-10 wheels I had on it. Unfortunately the fronts required a shim to be able to properly tighten the screw down without clamping the adapter to the hub. Realized I forgot to add the wheel stiffeners when I ordered from Factory works so kinda made some out of some spacers I had. It looks interesting.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Factory Works bulkhead brace? I must investigate...RogueIV wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 12:34 am Did a little work on the Cougar 2 Works. shimmed the top shaft of the trans after getting annoyed at a rubbing sound. I notice you have the battery hold-down screws towards the front of the chassis like on the Top Cat and Cougar. I did the same but I found that the body will not seat properly that way on the C2W. The inside ridges of the body contact the thumbscrews. The body rides a few mm high (and it will eventually damage the paint). I flipped the posts around so that the thumbscrews are in the back of the chassis and it solved the issue.
Maybe the manufacturing tolerances just stacked up against me and yours will be ok. I would test fit it, though, or at least put some tape on the inside of the body to protect the paint in that area. I read a few complaints online that the body line was in the wrong place and that the body was effectively too short, but I think this is the real problem. I cut right on the body line and mine sits perfectly with the posts flipped around.

Thanks for the heads up, i'll flip that around, although i may have to cut the posts down to fit my lcg lipos without having to space them.1911Colt wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 8:21 amFactory Works bulkhead brace? Got a little more done on my Super Rocky body. Hoping the paint scheme I chose isn't too over the top.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Getting the C2W closer to running...photo to accompany the story.
I've been weaving a tapestry of RC profanity over here.
Don't ask me what I think of my R1 Wurks ESC.
And now the story...I had this R1 ESC installed, bench testing stuff a few times, working great, cool, neat, wow....
At the time I was marveling over the WiFi connection/adjustment of this mystical black box.
Decided on Saturday night I couldn't leave well enough alone and updated the firmware to match the latest 1.8 version.
Got most of the way through that (file 47 of 49) when my phone received a Costco push-notification text, failed upload message appears.
And now the ESC won't light up when switched on...BEC works great.
The ESC got BRICKED!!!!
NFG!!!!
Since this R1 ESC was working fine with the old firmware; I am owning this as a self created unnecessary expense.
The car is rocking a Tekin ESC now. Vote with your wallet...
Test run will be 13.5T, 87T Kimbrough spur and 29T pinion.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
JRX ProSE got it's steering repaired, RPM 0deg toe rear block installed (Thanks @Charlie don't surf ), and fixed a JC Racing rear wing to it. It's ready for this weekend's race!
I got the Cougar 2 Works in driveable state, granted I still need to paint the body. Really excited to see how this car performs.
