Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)
Took a few comparison pics along the way compared to our 2015 original Ten4. Still working on sourcing a set of our original Robinson made pulleys and idlers to show for comparison, but they went 15t which is exactly what we did, and the same belt as well. They will find that this skips a lot, as well as allows the belt teeth to clash with each other, which is why we went to the 18t on the 4.1

So in addition to taking credit for someone else's work, they couldn't even be bothered to test it for issues to actually make it better? Just slap your name on it, wrap a bow on it, and take a victory lap. They really don't care, do they...GoMachV wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 7:20 am Took a few comparison pics along the way compared to our 2015 original Ten4. That's what I was thinking when I saw how close the teeth were.

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)
Could it be upgraded with the 18T pulleys and longer belt?

Looks like it. I'm working on that now. Since they use 15t and the same belt we did, it would stand to reason the 18 would work with our current belt

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)
I was wondering the same, especially after it was mentioned during a build online the plastic pulley spacer in Bag B step 2 can crack trying to thread the set screw. Odd that they list the pulley as 15T, wonder if they come out with an associated 'upgraded' pulley...hmm.... bet it will be 18T....

Jeff, I am thinking your signature needs an edit. Maybe not a substitution per se, but maybe an addition.GoMachV wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 7:20 am Took a few comparison pics along the way compared to our 2015 original Ten4. I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

So I'm just catching up , they copied ( stole ) the 2015 version that had issues that you rectified in the 2025 version , I've said it before and will again " there no qualifications , no interview or skill required to be a criminal "
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)
They don't see it that way, they feel like their kit is the natural evolution of their original 1985 chain drive 6 gear prototype that was never seen since then. I guess we both just guessed correctly
I feel like the pics speak for themselves.

Maybe it needs a Ten4.05 sticker
