Wait...
So AE effectively cloned (stole) your design and now you're gonna buy one?
Shouldn't they send you a car as partial payment??
Clearly, you're taking this better than I would have. :)

This kit costs $120 more than a Pro CAT, so they can definitely afford to give 1, or 3, or 70.

It's nothing like a real mip car, those imo are all that should be allowed. Depending on how close Eustace makes his, it may or may not be allowed. If it's updated for modern power, I'd expect no
So is the MIP version still potentially going to be released?

Lol, no, they won't even give me a discount code. Gone are the old days for sure. There again, it's not AE- it's thunder tiger. AE is just a name.

Strange times indeed.
Well, this is nothing like the car Jay finished 2nd with at IFMAR. I'll always wonder if Jay could have won with this car.
Anyway, I'll never be able to look at this car and think it's by AE (TT). This is a mass produced Factory Works car.

The side benefit of this Thunder Cats Ten4 clone is that it sets a bounding price. When they eventually make the RC10 Graphite re-re, it logically has to cost less than this 4wd buggy.

Sure is.. I already pre-ordered... One thing that has me kind of miffed though is that in the video they say that they are making it to race and using modern equipment.. Then if that is the case, why wouldn't they full send that and fix the problem of putting hexes in the rear?!

Of all the Re-Re stuff out there -- this one has piqued my interest enough to consider buying one.

I hate the ripped you off, Jeff. I admire your attitude. I'd have a hard time with that one, myself.

Gonna wait a few days to it the order button.

My attention span is so short, I have already lost interest in this. I don't drive my Ten4.1 at this point, so don't need another one sitting around.

EDIT: I am also waiting for the breakage .............. oh the breakage!!!
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

@GoMachV

So did you have advance notice of this and stopped production of your conversion kit in anticipation of the release?

I mean no disrespect, but I would be a little heated if a company copied a years long passion project of mine without any sort of acknowledgement.

No notice, but a couple whispers from other people in the know that something was in the air and I should probably not get too carried away on bringing in parts. This was after the second run, so I had already planned to stop anyway making room for mip to bring theirs out. But no, blind sighted to say the least.

Perhaps the only way for GoMachV to have prevented AE (Thunder Tiger) from "adopting" his design was for GoMachV to have patented his Ten4 with broad claims on the novel improvements he brought to the older conversions. But of course that takes quite a bit of money, and lots more to fight Thunder Tiger in court for patent infringement, and that destroys the whole business case for a small run of bespoke kits. I suppose in decades past the industry was more guided by ethical behavior and collaboration among players (Traxxas excluded).

I'd be more tempted to release all the files 😅
