A seller in China had 3 diffs I was interested in buying. A center diff, and front and rear ones. Due to customs and whatnot, I didn't want to buy them altogether. I thought having them split into two separate shipments would be better even at the cost of having to pay for shipping twice. I bought the center diff on February 13th, and the front and rear ones 5 days later on the 18th. Those sailed right through in 7 days with no problem. The center diff was a completely different story, and I still don't have it yet. It's been all over the place, and was even held by customs in Sweden for some reason. After tracking claimed it was processed through NYC customs it fell off the radar for days until it was updated with "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment" which is the first thing it said when the person brought it to the post office in Hong Kong. That would imply it got returned to them, and they had to send it back out again. By this point I opened a case with the USPS so they could look into what was going on. Usually that helps to knock it loose as it did this time as two days later (yesterday) the tracking updated to say it has been processed through Queens NY which is great news. It goes from there to the distribution center in Springfield Mass, and then to my local post office to be delivered. The bad news is it would be delivered tomorrow but it's Sunday of all days so now I have to wait until Monday.
I also took a gamble (and thus overpaid I feel) for an unknown set of aluminum buggy wheels that should have been delivered today, but have been stuck in that Springfield Mass distribution center for several days now which I've never experienced before. They would be here tomorrow too... if it was any other day but Sunday! It really sucks having to deal with the USPS incompetence, and then when it's straightened out, the delivery date falls on the one day there's no mail.
Oy vey!
The good news is I did receive an Amazon order of computer parts today I was waiting for.
