Kyosho Outlaw Rampage Pro

Post by Dangeruss »

In 1994 Kyosho released the Outlaw Rampage Pro 1/10 2wd nitro stadium truck. While the Sandmaster ST was positioned as Kyosho's entry level gas stadium truck the Outlaw Rampage Pro took its spot as their all-new competition level truck. Campaigned for a year prior to its commercial release the Outlaw Rampage Pro used a new blue anodized Duraluminum semi-tub chassis onto which a Kelron II plastic chassis plate with 30 degree kickup was attached. The chassis plate held a separate bulkhead that located the front suspensions extra-long white composite plastic lower a-arms with titanium turnbuckles retaining the matching white composite inline hubs and knuckles with larger 6mm axles. Unique was Kyosho's implementation of kingpin inclination, aligning the shaft that locates the knuckle onto the hub so that it points to the center of the tires contact patch, producing less tire scrub and a reduction of stress applied to the twin bellcrank steering system with its built-in spring-loaded servo saver, ball bearing mounts and titanium turnbuckles. A Kelron II top plate connected the chassis, steering, and front bulkhead together for increased strength followed rearward by a matching radio plate. Long hard anodized and teflon coated oil-filled aluminum Ultimate shocks with clip in spring adjusters were placed into service at the trucks corners, affixed to black fiberglass shock towers. Out back was Kyosho's new pinion and spur primary drive slipper clutch equipped three gear Super Sprint Transmission with a center mounted ball differential inside a white composite plastic case that doubled as the trucks rear bulkhead. A pair of Kelron II floating ball suspension mounting blocks retained the extra-long white composite plastic rear suspension arms with titanium turnbuckles retaining the matching composite rear hubs through which steel universal axles would pass. Shallow offset single piece 2.2 wheels with clear lexan dirt shields were wrapped inside 540/100/62 Pin Spike rear tires and 510/100/62 Ribbed front tires. A new aggressive clear lexan stadium truck body, muffler, flip top gas tank, front mini bumper and a full set of bearings were included with the unassembled Team kit which was sold less motor and radio. The truck however was also offered in a Sport version with plastic shocks, steel camber/tie rods, and bushings, less motor and radio as well as a Sport version equipped with an O.S. .12 CZ·R motor, less radio:

I always liked the look of this truck and I check eBay for one from time to time.
