How to bond PLA prints?

The frame for my project is too long to print in one piece so I'll need to bond the sections and I'm looking for some advice.
The sections will have a 15 x 30mm half-lap joint. I reckon one could use CA but I'd prefer something that will chemically fused the parts together.
Since acetone is often used to smooth the surface of prints, could it also be used to bond parts together?

Acetone in theory should not work with PLA , it's more for ABS , however it really depends on the PLA as a lot of company's use a blend of plastics and call it PLA so it's worth trying . CA really works very well and JB Weld is a good choice as it fills into any gaps nicely.

One thing to note if using CA on PLA joints...

Depending on the amount of handling of the joint, certain PLA filaments will show CA vapor fogging worse than others. If the joined part is cosmetic, clean properly with isopropyl first and handle with care to avoid fogging.

I've forgotten about this thread.

I've been using Tamiya Extra Thin Cement on my PLA prints and so far, it's working pretty well. TETC is an acetone and MEK blend.
The rear axle was printed in three sections (left, right, middle) and the fit was very loose so I used JB Weld to fill the gap per Dadio's suggestion. The bond went well but after it was set, I noticed the left and right ends weren't clocked correctly (misaligned). I could reprint the parts and reassemble but I was able to salvage the assembly by adjusting the angle of one of the leaf spring pads.

Anyway, every project is a learning experience.
