Factory Works steering fitted. Thanks Jeff! 8) Still have to get turnbuckles of the right length.

I won't use the Coyote wheels and tyres on this build. They're only in these shots to prop the car up. I will use black wheels though.

Diff cleaned and ready for reassembly. If you're familiar with Coyotes and Pro 10s you'll recognise the parts. The machined diff sleeve will stop the Tamiya AW grease from being flung out at speed.

Epoxied carbon fibre strips to the top of each side of the chassis for added strength.

Kyosho Tomahawk front shocks have also been installed. Note the carbon reinforcing plates behind the tops of the shocks. I think without them the shocks would eventually tear out.

These G10 plates were also added to drop the ballend down and completely remove the bumpsteer that was present at the last third of suspension travel.

Finally reamed the two cluster gears to 6mm internal diameter. The 3x6 flanged bearings fit perfectly.

I applied Autosol metal polish to the gears because there was one spot between the diff gear and its mate that would bind when turning the outdrive cup by hand. Then I used a dogbone in a drill to spin everything at high speed for a while. It's now spinning really freely with only the slightest hint of tightness in the aformentioned spot after a thorough clean and grease.
The fixed gear ratio still has to be remedied.

Polished the rear suspension arm pivot balls and made carbon fibre reinforcing plates for the arms.
Machined double wheel bearing adaptors for the rear. Each housing is 10mm wide, so they fit two 5x10x4mm bearings. I'm using Kyosho OT-18 stub axles instead of the stock items.

This is so I can finally use the Yokomo TH-8 rear wheel adaptors that have been sitting around for years. The wheels are 2" from the 870C re-re.

All bolted up. Kyosho Scorpion wheels and medium tyres on the front, Kyosho 2" soft tyres on the rear. The Yokomo wheels will be dyed black. Shock mounts still need to be fabricated for the rear.

I reckon the rear end could do with a little more downforce. The stock wing is pretty small and low.
Machined new rear body/wing mounts from aluminium.
