Does anyone else spend time on vacation looking for RCs? Or is vacation time meant for being away from RCs also :?:

I am always on the look out, and love looking in new places. I won't interrupt the vacation much, but I do look. If I find something, I try to line up a deal first thing in the morning, because then the wife can sleep in, so it becomes a win-win. I thought I had a line on a RC12i with IFS earlier this week, but it fell apart. I did pick up this little fellow yesterday, which from the overall condition, looks like it was run for only a pack or two back in the day. Found it on FBMP, and it was located in a town that I was literally planning on driving through already, so it was like a 15 minute detour. The Kyosho collection is starting to grow!

There are quite a few deals on our route from here to back home that I would love to check out tomorrow .......... but since the drive here was about 13 hours with traffic, I am not going to add to that.

Nice score! I also try to see if I can come across a deal while out of town.

I thought I wanted an Ultima, then got one with plans to JJ it (before the JJ came out) and decided to part ways with it. Now that I have a JJ waiting to be built, I think about getting one again... to do the JJ setup to. I really want to like the Ultima 😂

Oh, happy birthday!

Vacation?!?!? What's that?!?!?! :?

IMO, vacations are for doing whatever you like, there are those who think hiking is a great thing to do. Real weirdos, if you ask me!    A little RC shopping sounds like heaven by comparison.

My wife is savage these days.

: Setting - antique shop and the wife starts looking through vintage christmas tree ornaments:

Me: So, you don't think you have that tree ornament thing covered?

Wife: So, you don't think you have that RC car thing covered?

I just turn and walk away .......... beaten.

Me being more fiscally responsible in 2025. Not responsible enough to not purchase it without properly setting the funds aside, but responsible enough to not touch it until the funds come in. :D

I hate it!!!

You'll have to clarify, did you purchase it on credit and pay for it when the money came in, or did you not assemble it until the money came in?

Straight up paid for it, but refused to open it until I had brought in enough to cover the cost (or close to :D ). Good news is that today I made enough to cover the second half of the cost, so it is clear for playing!!

Every once in awhile I click on a thread and it takes me to what appears to be another forum but it’s not. The clodbuster thread is the current example. It’s this forum in the address bar but it’s ClodTalk on the page. Is that ok?

I think @Lowgear has 10Talk buttoned up tight with all kinds of crazy addresses that all take you to RC10Talk and its directly affiliated ancillary pages...I think that's OK/normal, what you describe.
Hope you're doin' something fun.

@Brendan2904

- Yes, this forum is the repository for the once mighty ClodTalk forum. You are fine.

Everyone is absolutely right. :)

As it pertains to ClodTalk, it used to be it's own separate forum but went dormant many years ago. Plus something like 80% of images in posts no longer worked any longer either. It became a major waste of time and resources to continue maintaining it for no real reason, so the decision was made to close it down for good, and incorporate the domain name into the board here. This way it would alleviate the problem, while allowing ClodTalk to continue on in at least some capacity. :)
