But isn't this your favorite? Is this like when parents tell one kid "You're my favorite" but then whisper to the other kid "you're really my favorite"

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
Just discovering this because Trey bumped it up!! Jesus, what an awesome build this is Coxbros!!!
It answers so many things I've been wondering for years on Estes powered cars!!
I'm so glad the car is in great shape to make more runs!

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
Thank you!...the Estes F15 ran good but only about 60mph the way the car is setup now with engine mounted really frontward (much better control as it pulls the car more than it pushes it, containing the fire under the body is tricky)...but cheap and easy to buy....I ran dual Estes "E" engines that accelerated pretty good and would run 82mph...but in the last year and half I only run 'Aerotech' composite engines..they are alot more expensive (even the rebuildable ones)....but they have so much power and aren't like a "bottle rocket" like the Estes black powder engines...the Aerotechs are insane and the sound in person is actually scary!...especially the "Blue Thunder propellant

Dual Estes engines:

-this run actually had 3 engines in it...one F and twin E's...the 1st stage malfunctioned off the line...so I just hit the twin E's and it took off

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
Making a run tomorrow (if all the snow melts)....got the GNSS charged up, gonna try and get an accurate top speed recording which I have failed to so far..WHY? (if u ever saw it run in person you would understand, it's hard to record the speed of a bomb going off)...anyway...going with an Aerotech G64 engine that puts out 22lbs of thrust...(car weighs 2.5 lbs)...I will have my tripod setup and hopefully get some good video which I will send to Thumbs..but I can only send 9 secs to him via email (unless you know of another way)..the full video will be on RC10TALK Facebook..assuming the snow is gone..already nervous thinking about it..this thing will keep you on your toes for sure..got to pay very close attention or someone could get hurt..plus there's the whole cop thing to deal with...be have a few drinks, run the car, cops show up 2 minutes later.."how much u boys had to drink?"...right in the pokie

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
Unfortunately the weather isn't cooperating here..ice melted but 20mph winds and cold....that's just too windy to run it..I will postpone the launch until a nicer day
