Re: The next rere... a GT?!!
Engine-wise, a TRX-15 is a drop-in. Side-exhaust, short-shaft, rotory carb. And they're still reasonably priced.
Or just convert it to electric, as heretical as that is. Haha.

Re: The next rere... a GT?!!
Is there anyway to run a pull start on these? When Googling engines for these I see some of the older trucks that ran a pull start, looked like the exhaust manifold kicked out further to allow room for the pull start.
And if no pull start, what are the starting options for these?

The prototype is better because I built and raced it.Dangeruss wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 1:19 amhttps://blog.jconcepts.net/2019/07/inside-look-jconcepts-rc10-egt-racing-truck/

I believe only 30 kits were made and sold. I still have to build mine.

Re: The next rere... a GT?!!
To run a PS it requires a different manifold, taller engine mounts (engine side mounts), and not necessary but the nonPS models came with a taller flywheel as well, so you could bumpstart if wanted/needed.mark wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 8:45 am Is there anyway to run a pull start on these? To bumpstart the engine you could get a universal bump box and set it up. Or they made boxes designed for stadium truck engine layout. Or go cheap and get an airplane nose cone starter with the rubber wheel added.

Re: The next rere... a GT?!!
I reckon if you're interested in building a mid-motor electric stadium truck, then this release is for you.
However, from the video, it seems that AE wants to help racers revive vintage nitro truck racing. If AE is serious, they really should do what they can to help customers source reasonably priced nitro engines that drop in with no modifications.
Engine availability will certainly impact sales for the new GT.
Sorry for stating the obvious.

Re: The next rere... a GT?!!
I'd venture a guess that a motor will become available here at some point. Think of all the buyers who aren't GT experts putting the cart before the horse and building the kit then finding out they can't get a motor. I'm thinking the return rate would be impacted more than sales.
Is that stating the obvious? 'Cause it was fun!

Like I said earlier, TRX-15. You can even get it in a NPS short shaft version.Dangeruss wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 2:08 pmI'd venture a guess that a motor will become available here at some point. They're not the best engines ever made, but they're better than everything else available, which is basically nothing. And they're drop-in with no mods. More than sufficient to build a reliable runner.

I don't see Associated telling customers to put a Traxxas motor in their GT's... imagine the meltdown buyers would have...
