My tamiya collection

Post by Brendan2904 »

Ok. I have been a Tamiya collector for a long time. I got my first car, the Grasshopper 2, in 87.

Life and a marriage implosion got in the way a few times but I have always come back.

Here are some pics I took.

Some more. I had to lower the resolution on the pictures. The files were too big.

That's a nice collection :D
What I tend to do with pictures is take them from a greater distance then crop them back to make the file smaller , not sure if it's better but it's simpler for me .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

My Samsung phone allows you to simply resize the image. 80% usually works fine.

Ok so to explain.

The Fox, Boomerang, Hornet and Frog in the first pics are reres as is the Lunchbox. The other 2 Frogs, Grasshopper, Midnight Pumpkin, Blackfoot, Super Blackfoot, King Blackfoot, Monster Beetle and Clodbuster are resto's.

The TT02 BR is a new build with 2 bodies. I am still deciding what body I am going to run and what body is the shelf body. Leaning towards the black one being the shelf queen body.

The 2 Super Clodbusters and the Squash van are also new builds.

The Kyosho USA 1 is the new 1/8 scale and I did the 4ws upgrade to it.

The Super Hornet, and Blitzer Beetle are models 2 and 3 for me from the 90's.The Grasshopper 2 is my first kit from 1987, and the Wild Dagger in the attached picture is my number 4 from the 90's

For quite some time I had been stuck at 13 vintage tamiya cars in my collection. 13 is a bad number, I'm superstitious about stuff like that. Well yesterday was fortunate enough to stumble upon number 14. I was at Hobby House in Poughkeepsie New York (about an hour away from me) and picked up a nice mostly restored Falcon. I started working on it this morning. Most of the morning was spent finding the correct screws, washers and nuts in my parts supply to mount the wing to the body properly. Cleaning up some stuff and getting the servos situated. It's nice to have a good stash of parts.

Well, I have cleaned up(out) the right half of the garage. The left side is 90% the wife's responsibility so I have to slowly make things disappear. Working on a BBX right now next is the Hornet Evo.
