Questions about the new RC10 re-release for December 2024

Post by Jsct01 »

They have a new re-release coming out and I have some questions.

In my early teens back in the 90s I had a jrx-pro but always wanted an rc10. Couldn’t afford it back then but am itching to get one now.

What do you guys think of this kit? Have they worked out the bugs on the re-releases?

Thanks!

Hi. Welcome.

I think a bunch of us are ordering it.

Mine is supposed to arrive Friday. It won't get built for a while though. I have no concerns with the kit.

I obliviously have not had this this one but I made the rc10cc as well as help build the rc10t reissues.
The parts seems mostly solid and well made.
The new e-clips are really challenging compared to any other e-clip. For some reason they have not been putting a extra clips in like they did in the past.

The instructions are terrible and you will need to download the original instructions. Most people here have built and rebuilt enough not to need the instructions. The originals have small blocks of text to explain each step and describe what can go wrong. The new ones have no text and assume you already know how to assemble the car.

It's a solid RC10. It's expensive to me at $400. If you want a new in box build experience its that way to go.

Here is my dilemma.

I want to build one but am thinking about buy a second one to keep it in the box. Are these collectible?

Is this the same car with the gold chassis I would have seen in the early 90s?

I need that dirt track.... and I want the background music when I race on it! 😁

So in the video they are calling them hard anodized shocks in this kit. 👍

That was the best AE video yet, which is fitting as this is the most enticing release in the series :D

Depends on what you mean by collectable. Do you mean you want to make a collection of each variant ? If you then yes.

These are not going to appreciate in value like the AE kits of old. The demographic for this kit are aging out , lots of people are buying these with the intention of keeping extra. Originals weren't even *that* valuable. You may make some money eventually, but I expect the price of kits to drop once the demand is filled.

The championship edition is what the gold version of this car. This car is less a team car and more a championship edition with bearings and universals.

Ideally I would have bought the classic because it’s what remember but it’s sold out every where.

If you plan on driving this one, Cliff Lett and Curtis Husting will tell you this is the better car for handling and traction. They were not shy about it.

You can still have the classic RC10 40th, with the limited edition numbered sticker on the chassis, this is the least expensive one I've seen though:

It should be available soon. One you hit the post cap you can post up in Buy sell trade as a wanted item and I'm sure you can find one.

Has a been a long long time since I raced RC10's..............was purely a stock guy.
Just bought the Team car and realizing that spare parts are not available, I am interested in buying MIP CVD set for this one.

I just do not know which one of the 2 that MIP makes fits this car.

I would sure appreciate some help here if anyone has the input to share.

Regards
Mike
